• Things are getting serious; WADA tell UCI and Pat to STFU and stop interfering

That article is truly written in beautiful language. It might be strangely para legal, or conspicuously business-like, but I still mean as beautiful as any Shakespearean sonnet or Wordsworth ode.

Lance's empire is falling... hopefully fat pat with him and all the other cynical fuckers that rinse cycling for every penny it can offer them whilst hiding behind litigious fronts and the sick.

  • Yep, still hate him.

  • All fake. Like the Roswell aliens.

He played a mean trumpet though

Wasn't that him on Baker Street?

  • Baker st? Nah he's more of a Bayswater kind of bloke, if you know what I mean...

  • I know posting the excruciating detail of this case might seem a bit boring but the stakes right now could not be higher; if UCI do not capitulate and ban the people already sanctioned by USADA and allow the USADA case to continue against Lance then cycling could very well get kicked out of the Olympics for non-compliance with the WADA code.

Goodnight track cycling and UK Sport funding and a shit load of the legacy.

  • I'm finding your updates very interesting

  • +1

This was significant because UCI have tried to argue WADA code doesn't apply and you can't ban if someone doesn't hold a UCI license which WADA has said is bullshit and ITF has just confirmed by banning said individual from tennis even though he neither possessed or needed an ITF license.

So you have two global governing bodies who are subject to same WADA rules interpreting those rules differently over same person.

  • Please continue to keep us informed, I have found it most enlightening.

  • Today's developments

UCI wrote to USA Cycling saying "we are telling you to tell Judge Sparks we have authority in this case"

USA Cycling seem to have said "we are being told to tell you UCI have authority but we aren't saying shit but here's the letter we aren't commenting on"

LA lawyers are saying hey look at UCI and USA Cycling saying UCI have authority and here is another load of bullshit we are making up as we go along that we think sort of make it looks like UCI is responsible.

  • I don't know what Armstrong has on McQuaid and Verbruggen, but it must be dynamite.

  • Either that or USADA have the smoking gun, the ammo and the armourer.

I re-read the old Frankie Andreu and Vaughters AIM conversation and the "Floyd has pictures" of refrigerated motorbike panniers for transporting blood made me wonder what else he might have documented.

  • When Floyd came clean (or told outrageous lies depending on your view point), he clearly stated that he didn't have pictures and had no idea where Vaughters had got that from.

Texas district court judge Sam Sparks has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Lance Armstrong's attorneys against the US Anti-Doping Agency on Monday.

  • And awarded costs against him too. Fairly comprehensive.

  • "Armstrong now has until August 23 to either accept a lifetime ban and the loss of all results during the period of USADA's claims [...] or take the case to arbitration where all witness testimony and other evidence will be aired publicly."

    Please, please option 2.

  • I am astounded, I cannot begin to imagine which way Lance will jump. Accept the ban and loss of titles and pretend to be the injured party or fight it tooth and nail.

  • As a totally innocent man, he will of course fight it tooth and nail...

  • If I were a betting man, I would put money on him going to circuit court.

  • Interesting to see the uci do a complete u turn and make out their position was somehow the same as the one the judge reached.

  • Wow! He's released a statement saying he won't fight the USDA, is accepting the charges and will be stripped of his tour wins. Using the excuse that it doesn't count because only the UCI's ruling really matters.

  • Happened to have woken up at this odd time and thought I'd check twitter. It's going mental. Ha!

  • And USADA is going to release the evidence once the other cases are closed.
