My wife's bike has mudguard mounts on the inside of the fork.
What do I look for in the description that will guarantee compatability?
Just tried fitting some Flingers to no avail... -

maybe @mdcc_tester knows this but can you buy a bolt like this (not sure what its called) that perhaps has a bigger hole but same thread pitch?
Its this: https://berthoudcycles.fr/en/653-silent-bloc-de-fourche.html my issue is with rim brakes the front brake bolt isnt long enough to pass. through that hole and engage with the recessed nut

You can buy anything if you have enough money. I suspect that what you're after would have to be custom made.

Brake block bolt on old mafac racer centre pulls?

Honjo and Velo Orange both sell daruma bolts. Someone out there used a recessed brake nut to extend the length.
Edit: it was Anton https://somervillebikes.wordpress.com/2020/03/25/using-a-recessed-brake-bolt-or-seat-post-binder-for-650b-conversion-fender-attachment-at-the-crown/

excellent!
I might get this in M6 to begin with and see if it works

Is there a generic name for an eye bolt where the eye is also threaded?
Bike-specific ones for hidden mudguard eyelets, such as these ones by Vitus and Specialized, are not always so easy to find. I know I can just use an ordinary eye bolt with a nut (or an L-bracket), but am curious.
Alternatively the SKS 'direct fork mounts' are useful for this.

The answer I was hoping for: “they are common in industry [x], where they are called [y] and they are 99p for a pack of 50, if you know where to look”.

Think it should be M5 but those are M6

My Vavert have rattled to bits over the years so took a punt on the lifeline narrow for my Kaffenback. Fitting the front requires me to drill and m5 tap the front of the kaff fork plus use a hack to give clearance for the mini-v's.
I'm going to have to drill a hole in the guard itself to fix upwards at the wishbone for the rear in lieu of brake bridge. Any 2020 tips to prevent the guard cracking, masking tape?

Always with the questions on this thread. Here's another (more of a request really) ...
Does anyone have a bit of an alu muguard, one they've basically killed somehow? I need a pretty small section of compound curved alu to bond to an existing mudguard I've cracked by creating a stupid stress riser I really shouldn't have. I guess 10 cm long, relatively unbuckled section, would do it. I do have an old VO front one, ~42mm I think, that I could trade especially if you're missing a front alu guard cos you've broken one! It's the smooth type.

Maybe we should start an orphan mudguard thread?! I seem to have quite a few odd ones around.

Hopefully not speaking too soon, but I’ve had success using jb weld marine to patch up my cracked guards. Can drill a small hole at the tips of the cracks to prevent any further propagation.

Did you find this? I have an exact match in my spares you can have
-
• #4570
I did not, I surrendered to installing it with L mount and a sheldon fender nuts; what have you got?
-

Thanks! Yep, I’ve had a similar product recommended, a ‘chemical metal’ stuff. But no the cracks are far-gone. Desperately want a wee bit of an old mudguard to create a kind of patch repair. These particular mudguards are worth the effort.

What model are you trying to repair?

An esoteric Honjo, smooth surface but with a flat middle. H27 I think it's called.

How long? PDW do a longer than normal version, it’s not super long though
