  • ^ I disagree, B15 was a pain in my ass.

  • For some reason there's only the standard B17 on the Brooks site as well...

    It's rubbish.

  • I got my best price (with delivery) from either chain reaction or wiggle, can't remember which.

  • The Brooks website is absolutely baffling. It just spews out a load of saddles at you and gives you a little paragraph about some of them but not others and describes the Colt as:

But still has it for sale...

I have no idea what to get. I have an old B17 but wanted something a bit more streamlined looking (Swallow?). Now I'm just confused and can't get it to show me prices in £.

    YOU'VE BEATEN ME, INTERNET!!!

The Swift is by far the best looking and most comfortable saddle in Brooks' entire range.
Definitely more streamlined than the 'standard' B17.
I would entirely recommend them. I have used mine for a good 6 years solid, many many miles. I practically forget my saddle when riding because there is simply no discomfort to remind me of it. Go for the big brass rivets. Well worth the money. If I were in need of another I'd get the Ti railed version just to save on weight.

  • "What has always driven me a bit crazy about Brooks is their somewhat chaotic model naming and designation system... ...If you’ve ever tried to read up on the British peerage system or the names of British military units (see the Princess of Wale’s Royal Regiment 3rd Battalion Territorial Army Infantry 2nd South East Brigade), you might be having déjà vu right now."

The swallow looks ace but I find it too lightweight. Perfection has come in the shape of the Brooks Pro (copper rivets) cut by Skully to look and ride like a Swallow but more substantial... I have these on 2 road bikes and cycling to Paris on one was comfy as...

Love my Colts too.... though long hard miles to break in! have on my 2 fixies.

    Just my Friday view...

  • I want to try the cambium, just wished they would do an all black version :-/

  • I have a Cambium on my mtb. It is awesome. Very very nearly as comfy as my Swift but on longer off-road rides I do notice it more. It's also a touch too wide to be perfect for me - it rubs a bit too much when sliding off the back for the short steep descents. It's blood good though. Slightly narrower and it'd be perfect. I seem to remember them saying a slimmer version is to follow but not seen anything recently about that.

  • That's exactly my thoughts on it too. The narrow one is the C15, which is supposed to be shaped more like their Swallow.

  • Spoke to the Brooks guys at Bespoked today.

The C15 is due out around June/July time.

All black versions of the Cambium range are due around October.

  • Nothing about the cut off C17?

  • Didn't see or ask about that, sorry.

  • My B17 has developed divots under my sit bones, which make it feel as if I'm sitting on the metal frame. These dents at the back don't seem to want to tension out, I've giving it about 1.5 turns over the past couple of weeks with little effect. Hesitant to do more for fear of stretching the leather.

I've tied the sides to stop it splaying, I ride with mudguards; although have been caught out without a bag a couples of times, it's never been properly saturated. I wonder if I've over proofide-ed.

  • Move the saddle back a bit? can't really see where the sitbones mark are.

  • Just infront of the rear rivets. I am going to get a layback post, as I think bad position is part of the problem, but it does feel like it's lost some of it's support. I'm finding the rock hard team pro on my road bike more comfy (it didn't work on this bike, position of much more upright)

  • Brooks saddle have a very short rail, bit annoying as there's not much you can do if your bike got a steep seat tube.

check where your sit bones sit on your Team Pro to compare it, so you can rules it out.

  • VO do a seatpost with 30mm of layback which they say is for Brooks saddles.

  • Bigger than the expensive nitto one that's for sure.

  • Do you find the saddles with a springs significantly more comfortable than say a B17 ?

  • Bit more comfort, way more weight.
I think they make more of a difference for heavier riders.

  • Yeh, they seemed so heavy don't think it is worth having a slight bit more comfort for all the extra weight

  • Cheeky cross post, hopefully someone can help!

Does anyone know the exact colour of the brown Brompton Brooks saddle? Is it brown, tan, or honey?

Need to order some matching Brooks grips as a gift for somebody. :)

  • Looks like the brown to me.
