  • Shocked no-one offered The Bicycle Workshop as an option. They are Brooks specialists, and although not exactly at Oxford Circus,
its not exactly Heathrow or Cardiff either. I consider North Kensington to be central-ish.

  • I've been riding on a Brooks B17 Champion Special Titanium on my fixed for a few months now and it is without question the comfiest, nicest saddle to ride on.....narrow, hard as nails, no give, for some reason it just fits me perfectly

  • Erm,

    Yeah.

I just got to that bit.

    Knee jerk thread starting ftw.

  • FFS - where am i gonna order my rivets from now SJS have let me down

  • Thank you for your patience and sense of humour.

    :-)

  • Lulz. They must be making more money than ever.

oh yes, which other company can afford to close down for two weeks and go for holiday

  • Most of them. It's not uncommon for manufacturing companies to have scheduled shut down periods throughout the year. Everyone gets holiday at the same time, company has no operating costs..etc. Makes a lot of sense really.

  • Most business in Malta shut for two weeks in late summer.

  • Fsa closes down for all of august. I know because I'm struggling to get some bits from them.

  • My business only opens when I need money.

That's incredible, I wasn't aware they did any work.

It also allows time for all the machinery to be serviced without impacting production.

  • a lot of automotive plants in the US close for 2 weeks in the summer. it is common.

  • Tom Jones refuses to do any gigs for two weeks every summer.

    It's not unusual.

  • Same goes for Bruce Hornsby & The Range.

That's just the way it is.

  • Other than stopping it for two weeks.

But if you have a planned shutdown, you can adjust your production schedule accordingly.

  • Most furniture manufacturers still do the same.

I like to think they still get the train to the coast, en masse.

  • Is that on the French coast?

  • Skegness, I believe.

  • Saddles that look nice are comfy, just man up :P and a brooks b17 looks nice :D

  • But if you have a planned shutdown, you can adjust your production schedule accordingly.

Ja, often other suppliers are shutdown too so it makes sense.

    I have one of these:

They are made in Italy by a factory which shuts down for six weeks over the summer.

This is not unusual among Italian manufacturers.

  • I recall the same thing happen when the forum's cap gone all elastic on us.
