I've been riding on a Brooks B17 Champion Special Titanium on my fixed for a few months now and it is without question the comfiest, nicest saddle to ride on.....narrow, hard as nails, no give, for some reason it just fits me perfectly

oh yes, which other company can afford to close down for two weeks and go for holiday
-
• #134
Most of them. It's not uncommon for manufacturing companies to have scheduled shut down periods throughout the year. Everyone gets holiday at the same time, company has no operating costs..etc. Makes a lot of sense really.

Most business in Malta shut for two weeks in late summer.

That's incredible, I wasn't aware they did any work.

It also allows time for all the machinery to be serviced without impacting production.

Tom Jones refuses to do any gigs for two weeks every summer.
It's not unusual.

Same goes for Bruce Hornsby & The Range.
That's just the way it is.

Other than stopping it for two weeks.
But if you have a planned shutdown, you can adjust your production schedule accordingly.
-

Most furniture manufacturers still do the same.
I like to think they still get the train to the coast, en masse.
-
• #145
Is that on the French coast?
-
• #146
Skegness, I believe.

Ja, often other suppliers are shutdown too so it makes sense.

I have one of these:
They are made in Italy by a factory which shuts down for six weeks over the summer.
This is not unusual among Italian manufacturers.

I recall the same thing happen when the forum's cap gone all elastic on us.
Shocked no-one offered The Bicycle Workshop as an option. They are Brooks specialists, and although not exactly at Oxford Circus,
its not exactly Heathrow or Cardiff either. I consider North Kensington to be central-ish.
