There was a *complete *V1 that sold a while back with Thomson, Sugino and Phil components for around what you're asking.
If your price was halved you'd have my cash coming your way (despite the modified forks).
That was mine last year..paid 860 complete
When it got trashed i spoke to Matt @ Talbot who offered to make me a new one for 850ish...

haha, i had a similair idea a while back, order in 4130 tubes from true temper, and get a framebuilder to build me a gangsta-esque bike but with steeper ht and st angles. the dropouts on tonic's have always looked cool to me with non-tapered stay's
Basically i want a tonic with gangsta clearances/forks

Just picked up my V1 from Tom Donhou - had the rear triangle re-aligned and some dents filled. Tom did a cracking job on it. CP to follow.
