  • brrrr frost on the grass for the first time this year

  • Snowing in Laindon, Essex

  • central heating went on for a few hours yesterday ... it's that cold !

  • Little flurry of snow in New Cross just now too.

  • Will it ever stop storming? Flippin sick of the rain.

  • Anyone else dreading tonight’s ride home in the downpour?

  • Looking forward to the shower afterwards. Lights, pedal reflectors, reflective clothes, tiny lights pointing inwards to light up reflective clothes… hopefully visible enough!

  • Had a puncture on the canal and big old walk to a station.
Jaws were uncontrollably chattering when I got through the front door two hours after leaving work.

  • Live less than a mile walk to the Trent, the valley is just a massive inland sea at this point, hedges under water

  • Little but windy out there, the gusts are gusty

  • I never got round to putting silicone between the gaps in the distorted Crittall window frames in our flat before the secondary glazing went in, have just had to open the secondary to relieve the pressure as a large 180x125cm panel has just lifted itself up and very nearly popped out the frame.
Almost shat myself!? The bottom track that the panels slide in was bowing as it’s only held by the weight of the glass and sealant.
We are on the 6th floor and facing south and at the top of Crystal Palace so getting the full force of what Isha has on offer.

  • I cycled from downham to Sydenham about 645.
On a cargo bike. It was fucking wild and I’ve never been happier to be home.

  • We've lost two fence panels already. Heard a loud bang, security light went on, and we watched them flying across the garden

  • Really hyped about 33km of headwind at 5:30am tomorrow.

  • s'warm though

  • We also lost our fence, have gone around picking up the pieces from the neighbs. Plus most of the terracotta pots have been toppled over and smashed. Carnage!

  • One fence top trellis has gone - local news channel coming round later to interview me. Other fence is leaning a bit more than before. Table tennis table survived (usually its cover launches itself in modest wind). Neighbours trampoline survived.

  • We live on the leeward side of a hill, so was thankfully sheltered a bit from it... Sounded horrendous out there though.

  • Lost the roof of our bike shed. It's in a very sheltered spot, so no idea how that happened. Found it in the road.

  • Mines not lost, it’s in next doors garden.
I gained a cheap plastic patio table.
A friend sent a picture of their newly landed marquee, it’s upside down, a bit ripped and bent but should be repairable.

  • Fuck me it's depressing in this country.

We need to rotate the school summer holidays to this shit time of the year so we could leave and spend it somewhere warm with daylight.

  • Howling wind out there. No bins flying yet so not as bad as that late spring storm that closed Heathrow a couple of years ago.

  • It's not even the worse storm this week.

  • Our garden's taking a battering this week. First the fence went whoosh, and this morning we found a 20ft long broken branch lying on the lawn. Curiously, it doesn't seem to be from our tree though...
