Serious flooding on many roads out of London this morning. Never seen anything quite like it.
Most of the stranded cars were bmws for some reason.

Talking of stranded, I've got a moat.

intentionally left the windows open and the curtains undrawn last night
that first roll of thunder was epically loud and woke me from my slumber
-

Yeah, the cat decided it needed company when the thunder started. Love storms. Just not when you're travelling and you nearly miss a flight.

Goddamn thin curtain.

Cracking thunder last night. Biblical rain as well. Was late for an early morning meeting due to Surrey Quays station being underwater. Just made it to work to find office completely flooded and meetings cancelled. Thank you Thor!

Is it raining today?
I wouldn't know from all the people in my office telling me how bad the trains were. -
• #7459
78 mm of rain overnight in Crystal Palace. Some of it made its way into our kitchen, luckily only a few puddles.

I have a hole in the crotch of my jeans
My shirt keeps on coming untucked because it's too small
I am not wearing any underwear because I didn't pack a second pair. -

lightning woke me up last night, so fucking bright, trains fucked, delays for days, and had to ride the summer bike into work rather than shoving it on the train and pottering back later this evening.

All of the rain flowed down hill from us.
Fortunately, all of our drains were functioning.
Which is a surprise as they're all blocked to fuck with treesex and leaves. -

Glastonbury weather in full swing

Was watching the storm int between trying to sleep in my attic room with 2 velux windows. Loud and bright.... then all of a sudden a bright long flash of lighting that lasted ages and ages. Opened my eyes to see my tv had semi powered up and an led light i have plugged into it had turned on. That was spooky..

7 days.

Either I'm going blind, or it's very dark today.

Dayumn, sorry to see that, hope it looks worse than it is(?!)
-
• #7469
We were 'lucky' in that we woke up hearing it coming in and managed to get the bulk of non-furniture out in time. Sofa and shelves etc are ruined and obvs it's a massive ball ache!
-
• #7470
Fuck, looks like a lot of clearing up. Hope nothing too precious got damaged. Where do you live?
-
• #7471
Hackney Wick, yeah it's been tedious! I loved our sofa but it's replaceable - worst thing is probably damage of 20-30 out of print record sleeves. Not the end of the world but we also haven't tested any equipment moved out (PC/AV etc).

Damn! That looks rough! Sorry about that. So what happened did the drains just fail to run into the canals or what?
-
• #7473
No idea really, the vent that was erupting currently has a slight draft but it's on a joining wall in a terrace so fuck knows what's going on there. The nearest drain in the road looks as if it overflowed (twigs/leaves everywhere) but our drains weren't gushing, just not going down.
