  • wind = 22mph
    Shinscar = 5mph

  • fucking headwind for 10miles this morning, and all uphill east to west........

  • murtle: its going to exactly the same on the way home...have you noticed how the wind is against you no matter what direction you are traveling in?

  • why IS that? I don;t think i can ever remember having a tail wind.

  • yeah deff east to west wind... i was going south
    i felt like a plastic bag on london bridge this morning getting blown towards the middle of the road...thank fook for wideish drops

  • Good backwind, it was the magic carpet ride home for me last night.

  • yeah, i flew home last night

  • eastbound this morning. what wind?

    it got me last night. was riding across london bridge at a 45deg angle goin straight...aparently 50mph gusts. goin to be a hard one tonight 35mph gusts

  • mongrel why IS that? I don;t think i can ever remember having a tail wind.

    the first day this so called story started i was riding east towards eltham...i was well up for riding home cos i was sure i would have a 40mph tail wind...NO!

  • Yep last night keeping up with car on the dual carriage way. This morning barely moving thank god for drops.

  • HTFU LFGSS!

    No, seriously last night was horrible. Really niggly journey home, headwind (agree, it's ALWAYS against you whether going to work or coming home - WHY?), and loads of twatty behaviour from grid locked drivers. Happy to get home in one piece.

    Oh and some hate going out to scooter riders:

    • See the bike symbol in the ASL? Its got a set of cranks. Does your scooter have those? No. Then stay the fuck out please.
    • No, you can't fit through that gap. Oh great it's now plugged for all of us
    • No driving test for you to be able to ride one of those things, eh? Doesn't show - much.

    //ends rant//

  • Even though it was a pretty strong headwind, I was quite enjoying pushing through it until I got to Richmond Park. It was like cycling through treacle from Roehampton Gate and then a fight to stay on the bike up the hill to the Ballet School as the crosswinds belted across the open land.

  • At least it wasn't raining today. Look at this poor bastard I snapped on tuesday:

  • great photo-ben!

  • Getting blown up the hill from Kings X to Angel last night was great.

  • thats one thing that really irratates me. fucking motor bike or scooter riders that walk around with there stupid helmet on inside a shop. you lazy cunts take it off, wow a whole nanosecond.

  • got so fucking knackered on my way home last night though
    Holloway + Archway road + Headwind + 16x48 gearing meant i was so tempted to stop and push. I REALLY gotta swap out that back sprocket. It's just really inefficient.

  • justMouse HTFU LFGSS!

    I'm hearin' you, oh great rodent.
    I fncken hate scooter riding suits.

  • Less hate more love.

  • I love you tommy.

  • get in front of the scooters and do your trackstand in front of them...when lights go green, count to 3secs and go

  • Cheers aidan. Dogs - he took off his helmet when he was inside. Pretty sound guy, went a had a little chat with him and we had a little bitch about the rain 9I was drenched at this point too - my editor wanted me to get some shots of people getting wet). He had a bright yellow motorbike, the effect was impressive ;-)

  • The sidewinds nearly got me this morning. Nearly took out a wing mirror of a parked car. Took a more generous line after that...

  • Owing to having some van driver at my work wreck my back wheel last week and owing to only having a 16t sprocket for the new wheel I was stuck in an 81" gear going west this morning. I'm sure it'll be good for me in the leg strength department somewhere down the line but it sure was painful.
