eeehhhh ergh, it's terrible outside.
tempted by the bus :-/
Are you yellow? It wasn't that bad as it goes, just need waterproofs. Side winds kept chucking me about a bit too.

i don't have anything other than my waterproof jacket :(
i think its time to get some baggy shorts that i don't care about getting wet.

Thought I'd be clever by doing just that. Arrived at work, smug in the knowledge I had a toasty dry pair of trousers to put on. Only to find I'd forgotten them. So home and back again it was... Lovely day for tripling my commute....

Forgive me I took the cyclepath on my s/s instead of braving OKR. I was punished by finding my work shirt and trousers were sodden cause I forgot to double bag them.

matt (baddesigner) i totally wussed out and got the overground. :)
Aye, me too.
Not the going to work that was a problem (I was looking forward to the 40mph tailwind) but the going home. It's supposed to get worse this evening and I'd have headwinds of 40+mph. Just not my idea of fun.

came out the door to find i had a flat!
Came in on my gf's lady mountain bike instead. It's a complete tank which helped with the crosswinds... -

I bottled it too, neither of my bikes like the wind... Super twitchy front ends...

I spotted myself go out on my bike, almost get blown straight off by a 40mph gust coming down the high road, slope back in doors to get changed to walk to the tube.
I feel like a right poof, but it was just too dangerous. Even my cat was freaked out!

Sun is out now ! Woop!

For some reason I thought it was a breeze (see what I did there). Maybe tonight will be a different story.
And no flippin Brompton-riding cocks trying to race for once. HHAAARRRRDDDDCOOOORRRREI rode my Tank Tange that steers like a boat. Rather appropriate. Mudguards too. Smug bastard.
umm where's me dry troosers?

I had to carry a bike box down the road from Old St to Holborn. It was like a sail. I took out more pedestrians than if I'd been actually riding on the pavement.

not as bad as I thought it would be. A little hairy coming down Sawyers Hill in RP, where I nearly got blown over by a crosswind and a fallen tree holding up traffic in Barnes. Luckily I was able to zip past the cars and duck underneath it.
Damp though and my clothes smell of old tyres. Bit worried about the idea of a 40mph headwind tonight...

yeah the weather forecast says worst winds are about 5 - 6pm... Worried about getting my too-small ladies' mtb tank back up archway. Engage first gear!

scott not scot Didn't i pick the right week to come down.....:(
Its nothing! Just a bit of good Glasgow weather come down south for a wee party.

wussed out and got the tube. i hate it i hate it i hate it. and it cost me £1.20. I feel very powerless and impotent being at work without my bike, like if my friend on the other side of the river wants to meet for lunch, I can't agree because it takes 30 mins to get there when on a bike it's 4 minutes...

it's despicable weather..
great day for staying in and doing fuck all.
shame I've got to get out into it soon :(
-
• #596
I took the heavier fully mudguarded mtb option too, was a bit blowy when there are side roads, but ok all in.
Especially nice to pass LOADS of cars as the traffic was attrocious.
