  • you didn't look to the horizon did you
    rookie error

  • Thunder, lightening, big rain and hailstones. Fun ride home a 2 am this morning.

  • you didn't look to the horizon did you
    rookie error

Well, it was 6 a.m. and the horizon was nothing but dark. I thought maybe I used the wrong hand.

  • their weather forecast would have been more accurate with a hand out of the front door

I decided to tackle the problem aggresively anyway and ride/commute anytime despite the weather without giving a single fuck.
much easier and leaves more roome in my head for the important stuff like what to have for breakfast.

  • Well, it was 6 a.m. and the horizon was nothing but dark. I thought maybe I used the wrong hand.

the skin on your hand is too rough to get an accurate reading due to the fact your hands are always exposed to the elements and thus become desensitised.

to get a true reading it is necessary to use the sole of your foot. because it is typically wrapped in a sock for most of its life it remains properly calibrated for such sensitive tasks as this one.

the preferred method for checking is to turn your back to the [open] front door, lean forward and using both hands grab hold of the lower banister rail for balance, safety first! then extend your leg backwards until just your foot is outside of the property.

be careful not to expose your calf muscle to the elements as this is a common source of false-positive results.

  • i was scared as to where that post was going hatbeard
but then you exposed your foot and i breathed a sigh of relief

i was worried about which seldom exposed bit of your body you were planning on sticking out of the front door
i'm glad you decided on the foot ... and i'm sure so are your neighbours

  • are you talking about the method I use for telling if it's cold or not?

basically you put the appendage in question through the letterbox. if it reaches the other side easily then it's not really cold.

  • lucky you
my letter box must be larger than yours

i was thinking more rain but temp would also be as unappealing to the neighbours

  • Fucking. Soaked.

  • best commute eva.
    who needs metoffice.

  • When you get home, you're having a shower anyway, getting wet is fun.

  • Thunder and Lightning in IM5*

    *not in london
    .

  • HTFU London.

  • I was in the UK last week. It was wet and warm (well warm by my standards).
    Meh.

Come home to cold and dry. Much better :)

  • HTFU London.

i don't see you rowing out there to meet it head on

  • We've been hit by a couple hurricanes this year. I spent a week brainlessly opening my hand built gate the wrong way before I realised the heavy dytu hinges had been bent backwards.

  • I've been soaked to the skin, and I mean proper drowned rat style wringing wet through, 6 times in the last 6 days and to be quite frank it's left me pretty cheesed off.

  • you're only allowed to start complaining when it reaches 12 times in 6 days

  • Just saying. Global warming seems to be local to Germany.

    It was absolutely gorgeous today.

  • It was absolutely gorgeous today.

    Where, in Hackney?

  • No, I'm in Germany. Good timing. :)

  • Tactics from now til march.
Always have pair of bike shoes on radiator, making.changes pleasant.
    Some northern cold.coming Friday apparently.

  • yesterday the forecast for Friday was a white cloud. Tuesday was a dark cloud, looking somewhat miserable. I rescheduled a field day from Tuesday to Friday. Today, Tuesday is still a dark cloud but highs of 16c. Friday, on the other hand, has a dark cloud, rain, sun, and highs of 10c. Hurm.
