  • soaked through, but mum came to the rescue, now sat at home warming up with porridge and tea.

  • Flood alert? For reals? Well done flood alert people. If I have to get my tshirt and shorts a little bit wet and then find out on lfgss there was supposed to be a flood don't you think you could try a little bit harder to be 1) accurate about your 'floods' and 2) useful when it comes to an "alert". I've seen more water in the sahara. #fail

Of course if this is all news propoganda, humble apologies flood lovers.

  • was there a flood alert?

    ha.

i froze because i was wearing skinny jeans and a tshirt wind was killing me.

  • was there a flood alert?

    ha.

i froze because i was wearing skinny jeans, raybans and a tshirt wind was killing me.

  • they are subscription raybans.

  • I'm loving this weather. Always looking for an excuse to wear the Rapha Softshell.. Getting it on in August is a bonus!

  • #looking at the positives

  • they are subscription raybans.

sis says this makes me more of a hispter :/

  • But you are a hipster.

  • dyslexic hipster... prescription raybans?

  • Yes, she is dyslexic actually. Some people are.

  • I just thought they were Raybans I probably hadn't heard of yet.

  • argh - have to cycle from Kew to Camberwell now - and my waterproof jacket's at work :(

  • have you got a softshell?

  • Fuck waterproofs. all about long sleeve merino jerseys

  • Fuck waterproofs. all about long sleeve merino sponges

    really?

  • Yes, waterproofs make me boil and end up drenched with sweat. Merino at least keeps me the right temperature.

  • but doesn't dry quickly though :/ i think im going to invest in a soft shell for winter, should stay dry for a hour or so.

  • New Rapha rain jacket = dry and happy Gav.

Sweat gets out, water stays out, win.

  • but doesn't dry quickly though :/ i think im going to invest in a soft shell for winter, should stay dry for a hour or so.

I bought a Mavic softshell last year for £60 that works a treat. It has to really hammer down for me to get wet and it's super breathable. Too hot for all but the depths of winter though.

  • is it a hot as gore tex though. i die, even in the depths of winter.

  • Yasi, still have that small campag softshell if you want to buy it :)

  • i rode in wearing lycra shorts and jersey plus a 10euro/ebay purchase gilet from holland :)
hopefully all dry this evening, for the return leg.. nice not the be wearing wet clothes during work..

assos climajet jacket though is my prized possession, even 5 years on, a great piece of gear.

  • a quality sofshell is worth every penny IMHO

  • i was looking at the rapha ones, but only work part time and doubt i could afford one full time atm :/ might have to go for a gore softshell if laners doesnt fit :/
