Haha, I just got drenched as well. However, there's something satisfying about cycling past other cyclists who are taking cover under doorways and shelters.

ha, yeah and i wasn't complaining^^ either. getting wet on your way out sucks, getting wet on your way home is fine. clothes go straight in the washing machine, you go straight in the shower. like a boss.

Went out at lunchtime yesterday. Ended up going to M&S and buying a full set of dry clothes for the return to the office.
Got drenched on Friday too and left my shoes with newspaper in them. Didn't get back until Monday night and the newspaper was still damp and smelt pretty rough :(

Newspaper needs removing after an hour or so otherwise it actually starts working to keep the shoes damp.
I bought a waterproof jacket from decathlon yesterday, £29 down from £49, I sort of want it to rain so I get to test it out. On the other hand I sort of don't want it to rain to delay the disappointment when it doesn't perform as well as I hope. Sometime I will work out it's better to spend more and get decent gear than to keep buying the cheap crap that I do.
Got to love a bargain tho.

Generally love it, BUT... the only time I can't suss out what to wear is when I'm riding in a monsoon to sit in a lecture theatre for a few hours. Can't change clothes and nothing would dry in 2 hours anyway. What's the least unpleasant clothing to sit in, soaked, for a few hours? Current weather too hot for a jacket.

Altura race cape purchased. Not looking forward to testing it out.

You and I know the only best option to stay nearly 100% dry;
mudguard + rain cape.

Hopefully the emergency service shave got their priorities right and won't obsctruct either my commute home or the passage of Southeasties to the Roebuck.
Being serious, hope nobody was hurt.
I was about 30m from a lightning strike in Italy a while back and while my hearing recovered within a few hours I would not want to be any closer.

^^^^^ hope they had a good surge protector on their computer plug.
Love being on the bike whatever the weather, but long commute + greasy wet roads + lots of rain + puncture + glasses steamed up so I can't see anything + work has removed the bike racks temporarily from our courtyard = brutal morning + an hour late to work. :-/
