  • Getting up early has advantages..

    Rain: 2874
    hippy: 1

  • Come at me rain.

    +1

  • +1? No chance. I’ve had the waterproofs on but my socks are sodden and I’m about to cry.

  • Only started when I was at Angel, so about 7:45 and even then not in earnest. What hippy and 'was said.

Also venturing out for breakfast now. I think I deserve bacon.

  • one jacket in the wash, the other left at work had to htfu and cycle in in a jersey. mmmm. squelchy.

after the intial annoyance as it soaks though it's not too bad, it least it's not cold.

biggest hazzard in this weather is pedestrians blindly stepping into the road with their heads stuffed inside an umbrella. goons.

  • Got to the top of Dog Kennel Hill, stopped and put Milwaukee on.

Tootled off down Grove Lane feeling happily snug.

Growing realisation that the Swrve shorts that I thought were waterproof/resistant, were, in fact, neither of these things.

    Spare pants/socks/shirt in bag FTW.

At some point today IT are going to discover my wet cycling stuff inside the acousticly shielded 42u rack, but hopefully only when most of the water has been driven off as steam.

  • Pfft.. 'tis but a bit of rain.. rain will never dampen my love of riding a bike

  • Pfft.. 'tis but a bit of rain.. rain will never dampen my love of riding a bike

    This ^.

I rode my new bike in to work today, the rain did little* to diminish my enjoyment of riding it.

*unlike the goon in an Office Depot electric van who decided to do a three point turn without looking and nearly wiped me out in the process. At least he was quick to admit responsibility and apologise.

  • Er... I retract.. If I was out in the rain at this moment I would be hating it.. It's sheeting down in Londons famous Lambeth at present

  • Can you withdraw rep?

  • I retract my retraction..

  • ObHTFU

  • Left the house at 06:00 for my normal ride to work. Shorts, sun, t-shirt at that time. Perhaps I threw a curse by putting rain jacket in bag?

  • i love riding in this weather. refreshing.

  • Not after 11hrs in it, it's not.

  • Just got back from Siena & Florence to this shit!

  • bloody hell - can't remember the last time I was this wet

  • Err, last week?

  • ^ this

  • Pfft.. 'tis but a bit of rain.. rain will never dampen my love of riding a bike

    What he said (before retraction)

I rode my new bike in to work today, the rain did little* to diminish my enjoyment of riding it.

Sweet. Hope she handles as good as she looks. Ti loves rain - FACT!

  • Err, last week?

    typo!

  • just got to work, drenched.

still prefer riding in the rain compared to the tube / train.

crossing the thames in the morning is one of the best parts of my day, even when it's torrential, and i'm riding in to a massive headwind with no waterproofs... fogging glasses is no fun though.

  • A clarification. Rain, wind, snow, ice, sun.... Whatever the weather.. If I'm riding a bike I am smiling..

  • A clarification. Rain, wind, snow, ice, sun.... Whatever the weather.. If I'm riding a bird I am smiling..

    Me too

  • Er... I retract.. If I was out in the rain at this moment I would be hating it.. It's sheeting down in Londons famous Lambeth at present

Me at 8am punching the air at getting a cancelled GP appointment at 9.10

Me at 10am riding blinded through Waterloo not feeling so punchy. Everyone else had got off their bikes and were hiding under awnings and shit. HTFU.
