In Neil's case, I think it's fair to say that, it takes one to know one...

on the way to work this morning had one of those random sideways swipes by the wind had a proper wobble!!
-
• #1457
I was lucky with a 20mph tailwind. Ultra-spinney.
Any chance of a change in the weather before the long slow trawl home, I don't think so. Next time I move house it'll be to somewhere east of where I work.

the journey home will be better than the journey in, if it stays like this.
fuck me, if i wasn't so slender, that wind on the embankment would have kicked my balls. -
• #1459
I called it a challenge today as I rode in with wheel disks front and back. Added a lot of extra time on my commute.
-
• #1460
With the assistance of the 20mph wind I shall be flying home at 31 mph.
Winner!

Plus you've got the oppurtunity to hit some Bobby Carlos-esque free kicks.
-
• #1463
that happens every week. like bobby c, i shank them everywhichwaybutgoalbound and live off the memories of one great free kick....

I think great is a huuuuge understatement!
YouTube- 1997 Roberto Carlos Free Kick vs. France
Good to see those pesky Frenchies getting what they deserve, hopefully the same fate awaits them this evening.
(That last remark is in no way related to the fact that VeeVee is lurking...honest)

total fluke. he tried that with every free kick ever. he scored 62 goals (i can't work out how many from free kicks) in his career. everyone thinks he scored loads from free kicks. i don't think he did.
-
• #1466
Oh I definitely agree that he was pretty crap at them in general, but he'll always be known for that, and the many advertising campaigns that used the fact that he scored that goal reinforce people's opinions on him. But yes, lucky goal, pretty crap at them in general, still a fecking amazing goal though.

be careful out there today chaps, while riding, a sudden side-gust forced me to crash at full speed into the back of a parked car, causing me to somehow open a huge gash on my hand with loads o' blood. And while on the way to the clinic to get stitches, a similar wind pushed my missus into the back end of a lorry, where she smashed her head on its rear door and bent her forks backwards. Luckily, no concussion for her, but the bike is in bad shape.

There is a reason to be fat. Less susceptible to wind-induced death riding and more padding if you do still hit shit. Awesome to the power awesome squared.
-
• #1471
Ouch.
Hope that heals up quick. Yep, for anyone risking side winds, add at least another foot to the distance you ride from obstacles and be ready.
-
• #1472
Anybody up for a swim then?
-
• #1473
fuck me.

Epic wetness for me today. I need mudguards, been soaking my ass for the past 2 hours. Not fun. -

Dangleit, you have referred to me as a pervert several times this week. I am becoming uncomfortable with the implication.
