how minimal the rust is? How it's just on the surface?and in this one

my track nuts look like that too. I ride my bike every day in all weather, it's not even bad. -

OK... breathe in.
So, pol paz. If I email the 25,000 people on the LFGSS mailing list and we trace the owner, will you return the stolen bike?

If you find something, you take it to the police station and they take your details. If the item is not claimed by its rightful owner after 3 months the police contact you and you get to keep it
if you want to keep this bike, and not get kicked off it whilst you ride it around (by angry forumongers) this is the least you can do.
plus, you already have a bike...greedy guts

oh...thought i was having fun here... but you guys are going mental about nothing. your super moral statements about when a bike is abandoned and when it isn't are ridiculous (CSI...get a grip...) if it wasn't abandoned i wouldn't have considered taking it, but since i can tell it was abandoned i took it, have it my room and will use it, simple as that.
hope that if there's an owner he'll be able to contact me as i won't have trouble handing it back...otherwise it'll just become my next commuter when i get enough money to fit new parts to it.

how do you know it was abandoned when there was 3 days between you seeing it and taking it?
-
• #332
How do you know police can't authorize someone with good will to re-use a bike to take it if its abandoned? Oh wait...you don't know!
Let's say I own a car which is taxed and has an MOT, but was vadalised by chavs (true story). Do you think police can give you authority to remove the car?

They do have my details and they know i have it, why is this so hard to understand?

I've just read this thread with mounting disbelief.
you, Pol paz, are a selfish cunt of the highest order.
you saw something you really wanted, you took it, and you've invented several weak ways of justifying it to yourself.
You are nothing short of a thief, and a proper arsehole to boot.

I know a girl whose husband is in Afghanistan... Should I?
-
• #336
Dr. Paz says yes, but don't take his bike...lfss forumgoers will blow a fuse
-
• #337
take some pictures and wait until tomorrow, if he isn't back by then, then fair game.
-
• #338
haahahaha!

Pol Paz, I do hope you realise you will never be welcome at any organised rides or events. I hope you realise you have cemented yourself in the niche of "utter twat" in the minds of anyone who reads this forum (which is many times more than are registered).

I have a car parked outside my flat that has not had tax or been driven since 2004. Nevertheless if someone were to attempt to remove it I would smash their hands up with a big hammer. As I suspect the rightful owner of that Colnago you have just stolen would do if he saw you riding it.

Those flickr photos should be uploaded and mirrored by someone else so we can keep an eye out for it.

If I see you on it, be ready to get a flykick.
He's put em on private, good job it's an easy one to spot..

• #347
I've still got the page of them open. Thought he might do that.

Good lad. Someone steal his bike please, at least until he realises what he has done is bad, which he doesn't seem to fathom just yet..
-
• #349
I understand your point Robin, but don't be a dick about it. No one should be hurting anyone over this. Let's not be encouraging that kind ballbaggery.

Too late. I don't think he really wants the rightful owner to ever see them.
I've seen everyday ride's in worse condition than that, as for the lock well if it worked once why go and spend £40 on a new one? Especially when some bars and a back wheel look like a better investment.
If that had been abandond for a serious length of time those peddles and cranks would have been long gone!
