  • Any leads on the Wahoo Bolt going on sale this week?

  • Ok so failing any Black Friday bargains, what's the cheapest way to get a new Wahoo Bolt? Discount codes, signing up to a news letter etc.

  • Black Friday bargains aren't really bargains. I'm on the look out for a one as well if I see anything ill let you know.

  • Not quite what you are after, but it looks like the original Wahoo Elemnt (which I gather is identical software) has been reduced to £190 by CRC and Evans..

  • Elemnt Bundle at £229 is tempting.
Although I had hoped for a cheaper Bolt equivalent.
    Anyone have experience of both!?

  • Condor have the Bolt and Bolt Bundle reduced, not a massive saving but best I could find. I went for the bundle.

  • Right my Bolt has arrived, any top tips for setup? I'm pretty unsure about the cadence and HR monitor being much use to me.
Particularly as I have no clue about HR stuff anyone got a good beginners guide link?

  • What's the story with the new Garmin 1030(?) What have they borked now?

    https://averagejoecyclist.com/garmin-edge-1030-vs-1000/

Bigger screen that works better in the rain and with gloves and better battery life (20hrs - I wonder if that's with or without battery saver mode on).

"new, improved flush-fitting front mount, more aerodynamic"

"including optional memory card in the micro-SD slot. Improved weather protection for the card"

"Do not buy the Edge 1030 if you already have the Edge 1000. Unless you do marathons rides"

  • I've been keeping an eye on the Garmin 1030 support forum in case they magically created a unit that doesn't require months of firmware updates to get it stable but it seems to be the same old story...

"touchscreen doesn't work with gloves on"
"crashed 4 times on first ride"
    "lost all my profile settings"
"won't connect to phone, HRM... etc"
"buttons are too close to the stem to press"

  • I knew it.

Still, the bigger battery, power saver and better weather protection for the SD has got me moist. I'm like an abused partner with Garmin, just keep coming back for more...

  • its £499?! Have they lost the plot a bit? Thats top end Android phone money.

  • Isn't that kind of the RRP of the 1000? That's how they usually price new stuff. Which is funny because their new stuff is usually the buggiest.

  • 1000 was £439 according to CW review and that was .

  • As someone who creates interval workouts in TrainingPeaks, doing them on a Bolt/Elemnt is a revelation compared to Garmin, including the IQ app. Great UI, seamless transfer etc.

  • Got there on the November shipping deadline by the skin of their teeth, but the Karoo is now shipping.

  • You bet an email?

  • Not yet. I suspect I’ll be in a third or fourth wave (ordered/paid end of June).

    How about you?

  • I should be in the first shipment but I've had no email to say it's shipping.

  • Looks like you're right though... First few units are on their way, so fingers crossed we're in the final furlong! :)

  • Nah nothing. Where are you getting the news of shippings from?

  • I just checked it on their blog, which I never seem to get updates from despite registering to when I first ordered! :)

  • Funny. I get updates every sodding day. But nothing about actually shipping!

  • I saw it on their blog (albeit I wish I’d had an email saying shipped, Garmin turned itself off mid ride again yesterday).

  • whats a foolproof way of having turn by turn on Wahoo? Strava routes don't do it. Ridewithgps TCX with 'send me turn navigation' on? Ridewithgps FULL FAT GPX? Ridewithgps skinny GPS?
