I've a trenchcoat, you'll find me down LMNH looking shifty and trying to sell the ones that didn't make the grade.

The Garmins then.
-
• #629
Almost guaranteed.
I suspect that neither the Wahoo or Hammerhead will be perfect, but both will be better than the Garmin at slightly different things. I'll probably keep both.

Can't wait to bin my Garmin 1000.
Wish I could get the hammerhead pre tcr.

Software dev cycles though. It looks like they're almost there with the hardware but that there is a lot of dev needs to be done to get it polished for launch.
Just won't be ready before their ship date, and even then they'll update to fix the things they missed.
I bet you'd rather a mostly functioning Garmin over a software broken Hammerhead today.

Oh indeed. I was just talking wishfully.
It has to be 100% working when they release it or theyre screwed. -
• #633
Be interesting to hear how it goes.

Dodged most of the big storms during TABR so my 1000 actually survived.
It did randomly drop the maps after a long ride but a restart fixed that.
I'd also silicon greased and sealed the SD slot with electrical tape to stop the prick leaking. -

Is the Hammerhead compatible with the garmin sensors? I'm tempted to pull the trigger on one
-
• #636
Yes, it has ant+ and Bluetooth sensor compatibility. Garmin is ant+.
-
• #637
thanks, I am tempted to get it on the pre order

I have a .fit file which won't upload to Garmin Connect or Strava, I recovered it after my 810 crashed 20km into a ride, so it may well be corrupt beyond being saved but if possible I'd like to get it online, any ideas?
-
• #639
None of the files I've recovered off crashed Garmins have ever worked for me.

anybody advise please on this, I'm sure it's fairly simple.
I downloaded a GPX file from a website and when it uploaded it into RWGPS it puts it into my "Rides" not my routes. Is there a way to get it into Routes? Ta. -
• #642
Click it and Copy to Routes, although it usually appears in the Routes list anyway.
-
• #643
Karoo battery life is a bit worrying no?
-
• #646
So this has been popping up on my facebook feed: https://www.xoss.co/ anybody knows anything about that? I was almost sure to save for a Garmin 820 then the Wahoo ELMNT came out, then the Wahoo Bolt and now the Karoo... I don't know what I want anymore.
-
• #647
Wait until dcrainmaker reviews it. He'll find 90% of the gremlins in it that will inevitably be there at launch.
-
• #648
Getting a bit fed up with my Garmin 810.
I was tempted by the Element but I've signed up for the pre-order of the Karoo.......which is twice the price but looks fucking cool.
🤷♂️

Hi foks,
Does anyone have any experience with these?
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-macro-cycle-gps-with-mapping/I can't currently afford the more swanky Garmin/Wahoo units, but for basic navigation, would it be of any use. (I get lost so much...)

I would question why, it looks like it needs to be paired with your phone and it maybe stretches the envelope when it says mapping.
Here is the map.
If you want a cheapish mapping gps maybe one of these.

The Karoo can store music too, so I might stick on a bit of Yazoo!
