Doesn't those air pump in petrol station cost money?
In some places, yes. £1 to blow up your tires just to save on carrying a pump. FAIL
Silly idea really. There a a lot of places in London where you could easily be a long walk from a petrol station and even then you would need to know where it is. I'd suggest that this idea is utter gobshite, better of carrying a proper pump.

Calm down, you came up with a silly idea, no need to get all snippy about it. Move on, the next idea might be pure genius.

I run Maxxis Refuse which are not exactly racing tyres, they seem to resist p_nct_r_s pretty well.
However I still carry a mini-morph, two tubes, tyre levers and a patch kit, just in case.
-
• #311
The irony is that I use the same make of mini pump as Hippy.
That's not really irony though, it is?
-
• #312
I used to carry my mini pump multi-tool which has tyre levers and a spare tube. Don't see the need for patches when you carry a spare tube, unles of course you also bring the kitchen sink.
Time dependant innit?
Get a p_nctr with no pressing need to be somewhere- may as well repair the tube.
On the way to work- sling a new tube in and get back on the bike.

Is that a question or a statement?
Do we want to take the semantics route?
More of a statement followed by a question.
The point being is that I was commenting on you're idea of a converter. In that respect, whatever debate you may be having with hippy and the coincidence of using the same pumpas him is more of a non sequiter than irony.
I'd happily take the semantics route, I usually find it to be a lot of fun.

2 years no puncture, 100 miles plus a week excluding MTBing.
This is the logic I applied when making the decision to ride brakeless. Had not used my brakes in ages so whipped them off. No worries!

Depends on your likelihood for multiple punctures and the amount of spare tubes that you're prepared to carry though. Besides, a patch kit can be useful for an impromptu booting in the event that you suffer a gouging rather than a puncture. I had a gatorskin taken out by a plastic fork once and was glad of both the spare tube and the patch kit.

Best not take the syntactic route ;)

You know I always wear a helmet... it did more damage than good in this instance though... due to... I dont know, some fucking mental phenomenon.
