  • Machete Kills

cheese...ridiculous, over the top, gratuitous cheese.

    not bad

  • Just watched Calvary. Simply amazing. Perfectly manages to ask serious questions about religion while still being darkly darkly funny. Dare I say 10/10.

Thats the only thing out this week that looks decent at the cinema, looking forward to seeing it...

I saw this yesterday and liked it a lot. Lots to ponder, some real ups and downs, and very well acted. Amazing scenery as well.

  • I'm off to see The Raid 2 tomorrow night. I expect lots of deaths and not much plot, I am looking forward to the ridiculousness.

  • But why make a sequel to a non existent film?

  • The Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch would be worth a movie IMHO if he wants to do more Phillip K Dick stuff...

...on that note anybody here ever seen Valis? Very hard to find, is it worth a long trawl to find it?

  • The Raid 2 was just as I expected, full on gratuitous violence. Some awesome set pieces and brilliant fight choreography. Some of the story-dialogue bits were dull and unnecessary, 7/ 10.

  • Chris Marker Exhibition at Whitechapel Gallery (The guy who made La Jettee which inspired 12 Monkeys)

Visionary French filmmaker Chris Marker (1921–2012) created vivid film-essays that lace realism with science fiction and lyricism with politics.

  • Not 1st hand but my girlfriend said it had been totally overhyped and a bit of a let down. Fuck face from Facebook film really drags it down too but the story is the worst bit.

    I can't bear that guy.

  • So much I want to see right now. Might live in the cinema on Monday.

    Calvary
    Locke
    Spider-Man
    Grand Budapest Hotel
    Wrinkles

Serious? Sweet. La Jettee was one of my biggest inspirations when I decided to become a photographer. And still one of my favourite films.

  • captain americans v2. top notch blowing stuff up fodder and loads of easter eggs for comic book virgins / movie trainspotters.

8.5/10 i have wasted my life points.

  • ^ageed. Great fight cheoragraphy.

  • Just been to see The Lunchbox and Spider-Man 2. Lunchbox was brilliant, great story and characters. Will make you want to eat a curry afterwards, be warned. Spidey was alright, I'm a massive Spidey geek, but it only about half of it I enjoyed. For comparison, it wasn't a patch on the recent Captain America. Stay after the credits for a clip of the new X-men film.

  • Zulu.

Not entirely terrible, 6/10 accent points, and good to see some sarf efrican talent getting some paid work at last. shame most of them couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag. Still, nice to see the sights.

Is anyone taking bets yet that the 'sequels' will be just as shit as the 'prequels'?

    This made me laugh:

Another familiar face alleged to be returning is Peter Mayhew, who will again play wookiee and loyal co-pilot Chewbacca – despite his recent double knee replacement

  • yeah interesting, ^^ funny enough have seen the pics of wookiee original coming back
and even funnier watched episode 1V last night with my 6 year old nephew, had fun writing down all the names of the characters with him so he can check all the games on his PSP and all dem electric tings kids have
In 1977 I was 6 when it came out and went to see it. #syncronicity csb

  • i can't WAIT for the new films. i just hope i can live long and be prosperous!

  • Disney aren't stupid. They've learnt with the Marvel franchise if you make them good you'll make more money. Everyone wins.

  • Jar Jar binks?
