Agreed. It's making out it's an action movie with depth, but it doesn't have any, so becomes not as good as a dumb action movie which doesn't try to be anything but.

Notable good dumb action movies from this year: GI Joe 2, FF6, Expendables 2 and RED 2.

The cuts to long shots of haunting landscapes just after intensely something dark happened to let you reflect on what you had just seen were incredible. Uncomfortable viewing.

Really enjoyed Wolf of Wall Street... It's really just Goodfellas with stock brokers but lots of fun all the same...
