  • The Brass Teapot's a good laugh.

  • Jiro Dreams of Sushi. It is excellent, mostly because he is excellent.

  • I wouldn't enjoy eating there if he was staring at me all the time.

  • The Brass Teapot's a good laugh.

I watched that the other day, quite enjoyable.

  • I've watched Cloud Atlas 3 times in a week now. I think it's brilliant. I think some of these negative reviews will change over time..

  • Interesting fact: the working title for Cloud Atlas was Twaddle

  • I found this recently:
Raiding The Lost Ark: A Filmumentary By Jamie Benning on Vimeo

Great - If you're as obsessed as me with the details of making a film. And Raiders is still an all time favourite.

  • 'Filmumentary', what a fucking terrible non-word.

  • Interesting fact: the working title for Cloud Atlas was Twaddle

    Honestly, it was fucking abysmal

  • Saw To The Wonder.

My honest opinion, whether anyone cares or not, could easily have been replaced by a 1 hour 50 minute slideshow of beautiful photos with atmospheric music playing in the background and NOBODY WOULD HAVE NOTICED!

  • Watched There Will Be Blood last night. So good.

  • I watched it again recently as well. Forgot so much it was like the first time again. So good.

  • Yeah great film. The first 30 mins is mesmerising

  • Been talking about it again at work. Need to watch it again.

  • Needed a comedy to cheer me up. Like, an 'intelligent' one, or whatever. Watched "It's A Disaster". I'm now cheered up.

  • So Argo was pretty good, but also pretty self-indulgent. A film about film makers who are heroes where the real film-maker is also the lead character who is made out to be the sole hero? Pfft.

  • Argo fuck yourself

  • I enjoyed it but the whole 'Hollywood saves the world' bit can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • So Argo was pretty good, but also pretty self-indulgent. A film about film makers who are heroes where the real film-maker is also the lead character who is made out to be the sole hero? Pfft.

A fairly typical Hollywood let's re-invent history so we can feel good about something bad in the past film. Why doesn't someone make a film about Operation Eagle Claw?

  • I'm currently working on a script about the Costa Concordia, starring Matt Le Blanc as the drunk Italian captain and Jennifer Chastain and Kristen Stewart as single mother and daughter travelling aboard. Stewart is reluctantly taken on holiday by Chastain as a bonding exercise, as Stewart wants to move in with the more fun but bad father.

Through a set of incredible circumstances they find themselves at the helm of the cruise liner and battle through tempest winds and drunken male chauvinism to steer the vessle to safety.

An allegory for sisterhood it working title is "Hardship".

  • Sounds like a shitter version of The Poseidon Adventure.

  • ^ The porn version has a very similar title to that

  • Watched 'Possession' last night, the 1981 original, in full uncut madness.

Finally I have a piece of cinema that can help me explain to people how I feel about a lot of issues:

Possession (1981) Miscarriage Sequence - YouTube

  • Wanted some 90s film so I watched Election yesterday. It has a fun rhythm of development that kept me angry enough (about gender issues and character cliches) to stay interested. Reese Witherspoon finds a fantastic balance between self-satisfaction and defiance for her character.

  • Watched 'Goodbye Lenin' last night - Loved the german nostalgia and seeming longing for its Soviet past.

Felt like your stumbling on a dirty little cultural secret.

The 'comedy' aspects of the film are probably only appreciated by germans - but still very watchable

Good Bye Lenin! (English Subtitles) - YouTube
