  • Django Unchained on Sunday, got a table at Red Dog booked beforehand, yussssss.

Also need to fit Zero Dark Thingy in

  • Caught Mutiny on The Bounty at the weekend. Lovely film and Brando's performance, and accent, are just fantastic.

I saw The Bounty for the first time last year, loved it, Hopkins so immense.

"Oh there are rumblins' are there?"

  • "What did you say? No? Is that what you said? Is that what you said? No?"

Constant state of barely restrained rage.

    out on disc now.
    mesmerising

  • I am really divided on Django. The first 3/4 is brilliant but the finale is pure shit.

And I was surprised how bad the use of music was. Both timing and selection were horrible.
It felt extremely forced and clunky.

  • Where/how has everyone seen Django? Downloaded I'm assuming?

Went to see Gangster Squad last night. Sold out. GRUMPY.

  • I thought the photography in Django was a bit shit, overall a total Tarantino parody... Christoph Waltz is excellent in it tho', as is Jamie Foxx...

Silver Linings Playbook last night, really good movie... Nice supporting performance from De Niro...

totally - this is what made me question QT as a director? It was fucking awful to be honest and soooooooo obvious. Has he ever made a really decent film since Reservoir Dogs?

  • Has he ever made a really decent film since Reservoir Dogs?

Pulp Fiction? Inglorious Basterd? Kill Bill?

  • Oh yes, Jackie Brown too.

  • Jackie Brown is ok (subdued)
Pulp Fiction - aged really badly, terrible dialogue (not entirely the film's fault, ageing badly)
Inglorious Basterds - 2 good scenes - the rest a piss take (surely?) - remake

Let's face it, he just has a big collection of straight to video film VHS tapes

  • Jackie brown is a good film. Maybe cause he didn't write it...

The Hobbit was rubbish, but that's not a surprise. You like that stuff or you don't. I guess I don't. A bunch of crap I don't remember from the book either.

    Animated Hobbit 4lyf!

  • You like that stuff or you don't.

summed it up this, I liked the Hobbits, especially the song in the beginning.

  • That song is classic. From the book and I think the animated version is better. But I would.

  • The only thing missing from the hobbit was a good dwarf tossing gag.

  • Don't watch the hobbit, just read this:

    http://sarahtales.livejournal.com/206439.html

  • I haven't watch it yet, just looking forward.

  • End of Watch. Gritty and realistic ambience with a fantastical predictable unbelievable terrible script. It's impressive how the skill of the film-making made up for, what otherwise, would be a terrible B film. The "human" side is shovelled in so forcefully I ended up fast forwarding through chunks.

I'd give it a pass unless you love police flicks.

  • Le Chiffre

  • 'The Others' is on the idiot box later - worth watching?

  • Love everything by Tarantino, no two ways. Some of the dialogue and editing from Kill Bill and Basterds sees a bit clunky to me, but knowing him it's an intentional and obscure nod to some old film or style

  • 'The Others' is on the idiot box later - worth watching?

Nicole Kidman film? Yeah its ok, good......er.........

    yeah its ok

  • Nicole Kidman film? Yeah its ok, good......er.........
