  • She's a bright girl but explaining The Hobbit/LOTRs to Mrs Glover was cracking me up/I was tearing my hair out.

See also: explaining how changing something in the past affects the present, could not get her head around that one

  • ^^I bloody loved WIN WIN

have watched it again since the other day.

  • It's awesome. I first watched it a few last year(?) when it came out. Watched it again after I saw your instagram.

  • I'm off to find Terri.

Win Win came out in the middle of dissertation meltdown, flatmates went to see it, I stayed in writing about the innovation process of print.

    2 years I think.

  • The Will Ferrell one is also great. It's great seeing him do a bit of serious acting every now and then. He was so good in Stranger Than Fiction.

I know God Bless America (which I'm still yet to see!) has been mentioned recently, but Bobcat Goldthwaits first offering is also a must see for fellow indie freaks:
"World's Greatest Dad" - Official Trailer [HD HQ] - YouTube

  • Watched "A Dangerous Method" tonight. Decent acting. Knightley was overdoing it a bit I thought. Sadly a bit boring overall.
    4/10

  • Pretty happy I stole Prometheus. What a waste of time.

  • Just watched Like Crazy.

It was a nice thing to have on, whilst I packed bags and updated - iphone, kindle and ipod for the holidays.

That probably does it a disservice somewhat. Plus the girls are cute

  • Why oh why did they remake Total Recall?
Total Crap (apart from the fx)
Verhoven will be wringing his hands and
Dick must be rolling in his grave

  • Life of Pi (2D) - incredible - want to watch again

  • Just about to sit down to Apocalypse Now: Redux for a bit of xmas cheer!

  • My alternate christmas movie list :

    Mixed Nuts
    Trading Places
    Lethal Weapon
    Die Hard
    Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
    In Bruges
    Bad Santa

  • Watching Bad Santa on channel 5, I love this film.

  • ditto

  • Watched Drive again last night at the parents place as my father hadn't seen it. Only this time with their surround sound and turned up bloody loud. Made for an even better viewing experience.

  • Watching Terri. Charming, but oh so difficult at times.

  • just saw a screener for this:

I would have turned it off after 30 mins were it not a true story. It's astounding, yet it touches on something I think everyone can recognise.

  • Had a Winselt double bill today. Revolutionary Road and The Reader. Revolutionary Road was amazing, both Winslet and DiCaprio were in my opinion outstanding.

The sex scenes in The Reader were a bit uncomfortable at first but the film was a good watch, though I felt like it was a bit rushed.

Going to attempt Black Book & Meek's Cutoff tonight.

  • Been a fassbinder christmas
Forgot how amazing his films look.
The marriage of maria braun a highlight
    Hanna Shygulla is stunning

  • Hobbit last night.

    Ok but could've been condensed a lot. 3 x 3hr films?!

If I was a fan I'd buy the 47 hour long directors cut DVDs.

  • Watching this again. It's pretty good.

  • Win win was great.

Cosmpolis was pretty okay. I felt much the same towards it as I did the book. So take that for what it's worth.

New Total Recall was great fun.

Sadly no byline, so I can't pat the writer on the back. Obviously, I haven't seen any of these films, but I've seen enough that were as illogical as these are described here to know that I can't stand more than five minutes of toss like them.

  • Killing Them Softly is great... Cynical as fuck, some nice slo-mo wacking action... Lotsa wise guys...
Also watched Everything Must Go, Will Ferrell is really good in it... Unexpected...
