  • @Brave - why would the camel be in the tent with you?

Because it was cold.. Because I was lonely..

    Who gives a fuck..

  • Went to see 'Seven Psychopaths' last night.

brilliant, really brilliant cinema. dark, funny, engaging. would bang.

  • Hobbit: 3 stars. Worth at trip to see it on the big screen in it's glory though. I didn't see the HFR version so can't comment on that.

  • Seems to be one of those films which is shit at 24 fps but AWESOME at 48 fps.

I suspect every other frame is meatspin

  • Friend of mine is a reviewer for total film saw the preview and said "the hfr makes everything look like Knightmare"

  • Anyone know where I can get a copy of 1977 New Zealand film "Solo" ?

  • Watched Bicycle Thieves/The Bicycle Thief (depends on translation) last night. Absolutely brilliant. It's from 1948 but anyone who's had a bike stolen and had to report to feds/search brick lane could relate.

  • Watched Cashback from that link earlier, it was shit.

  • Saw the documentary Project Nim about a chimpanzee which they attempt to bring up as a human. Well worth a view

  • My god, just watched Premium Rush. Everyone on a bike in that film is a c%$t. So terrible.

  • I liked how they depicted how you pick your line, fairly accurate.

  • The Hobbit at the IMAX last night. Not sure they showed it in the 48fps, and if they did I didn't notice it. I'm a 3D sceptic but it worked brilliantly here. Not suited to action scenes, but the landscapes and more static interior shots are stunning. As for the film, well I'm bias, as a massive LOTRs fanI was always going to buy into it totally. I get what Kermode said about the ponderous first half hour, but then Fellowship... did the same, it's par for the course when you're about to embark on a 9 hour epic (more like 20 if you include the LOTRs trilogy). Never felt silly or juvenile, and Gollum again steals the show. I get the cynicism about turning a slim volume into three epic films but remember they're including a lot of Tolkiens extended universe, the fans will LOVE it. Going to see it again in 2D thought, as impressive as it was you, ironically, lose any sense of scale.

    8/10

  • Enjoyed it, Gollum was ace agreed

  • yeah,
amazing how a fantasy can keep you watching so long,
enjoyed it too immensely, prolly see it again,
only bad bit was adverts because we had to get in ontime stead of how I always walk in cinemas, last minute
    *donotwantadverts

  • Holy Motors......... no idea what i just watched.......i guess i could read some metaphors about life being a stage.........enjoyed it none the less even though i did not having a clue what was going on.

  • So am I the only one that thought everything up to Rivendell was shocking? It was so twee and cliche, the acting was really poor in my eyes. The light hearted nature really annoyed me. 48fps didn\t help it seem any less like a bad sit com either. The rest was good though.

  • Frodo has always been a shit actor

  • My god, just watched Premium Rush. Everyone on a bike in that film is a c%$t. So terrible.

Awful film. I quite enjoyed it.

  • Jackson just applied the formula from the LOTR films. Was exactly what I expected, and I enjoyed it. Will probably see it again this week. @spotter I get what you are saying, but I can only think it was done that way to engage people not familiar with the LOTR movies (or the books of course).

When I was leaving the cinema, one of the people in another group was asking his friends, 'What is that ring thing?'.

  • I also heard one saying it's such a rip off of Lord of the ring that they didn't bother changing the name of the characters.

  • were they miming?

  • They were signing at Streatham Odeon where the one with subtitles are showing.

You lots are lucky, subtitles show at an unearthly hours of the day, who go to the ducking cinema at 10am?oh the deaf of course.

  • And Bill Oddie

  • Savages last night.

Fucking 40 minutes too long, ending nonsense etc.

It had Tim Riggins in though, so it was fine.

    Oh and Blake Lively.
