  • Surf film festival @ Riverside (Hammersmith) this w/e......cowabunga !

  • got The Pirates! and Piranha DD from lovefilm to watch tonight.

  • I enjoyed the first half of Pirates. Dragged on a bit, I lost interest and then switched it off.

  • Taken 2 is out today - can't wait!

Do wait. It is utter shit.

  • Watched Piranha DD.
Much the same as the first, but more shit.
    Not worth a watch.

  • Went to see Leos Carax' new film Holy Motors last night and it was excellent, full of little surrealist vignettes from film history and absurd humour.

This is going to be my next viewing. I don't really enjoy going to the cinema, and I've only seen the most recent Batman (disappointing) in the past 3 years. However, Holy Motors looks absolutely incredible.

A few posts up someone said Dredd was the best comic book adaptation ever. I'm going to put my money on Iron Man. Almost entirely carried on the unbelievably perfect casting of Robert Downy Jr.

  • Chronicle and American Werewolf in London at the Macbeth tonight.

  • Watched Cannibal Holocaust last night... didn't really know a great deal about it other than it was banned for years.

Dissapointing, in no way scary and pretty grim in places mixed with some bad taste and generally having aged horrifically

  • Just flicked Film 4 on. There's a film on (surprise surprise) called 40 Days and 40 Nights. The film is a bag of shit but the girl in it... fark.

  • Not on my Film4....I've got Kiss The Girls

  • Good point... ITV 2

  • It's the worst film ever. It's basically about Josh Hartnett's boner.

  • Now's he's got a viagr-induced permalob and she's tickling his face with a flower. FFS.

  • Moonrise Kingdom was wonderful.

Has anyone seen Ruby Sparks yet? Any good?

  • Can someone tell me if Be Kind, Rewind is any good? It's a Michel Gondry film which implies it will be good, but it's got Jack Black in which implies it will be bad...

  • if you like movies you should enjoy it, well i did

but i took someone on a date to see it, many of the references to other films flew over their head so it was a bit lost on them

rather awkward when i was laughing and they just looked bemused

  • Hmmm my cinematic background is quite stunted by many standards but I do like films. I will give it a shot, thanks.

  • Just watched ET for the first time in about 15yrs. It is really rather excellent.

  • King of Comedy - Fillum 4 now

  • Moonrise Kingdom was wonderful.

Has anyone seen Ruby Sparks yet? Any good?

Saw Ruby Sparks on sunday. Best film of the year for me, just better than Lawless - although utterly different.

In the lamest of ways, Ruby Sparks really spoke to me personally (the film, not the character). Paul Dano awesome as ever.

  • Perks of being a Wallflower is brilliant, loved it.
Very well made and acted, Emma Watson is doing well...she doesn't strip though

    Want to see
