Why did Alien dude not take other ship?

Saw MIB 3 and Moonrise Kingdom tonight. Moonrise is Wes Anderson back to his best. MIB 3 is silly but fun.

Prometheus.

Wanted to finish off the girl, didn't foresee The Complication. Broke one of the first rules of horror films; never go back inside the house!

saw promethius tonight enjoyed it but wondered after if it would have been anywhere near as acceptable if it stood alone and didn't rely on nods to the alien films to make scene's exciting/interesting.
Pretty much all my non-geek friends who have seen it hated it. I need to see it next week I think.

I liked it a lot actually, despite the negative comments/reviews I had seen beforehand.
*Spoiler*

I didn't really think it was going to tie-in so closely to the Alien series, so the ending suprised me. -

Went to see This Must Be the Place last night. Thought I would hate it but in fact I really really liked it. The whole film is very 'gentle', a reflection of it's main character I think. The camera pans very slowly and there are a lot of scenes which are longer than they needed to be but the lighting and photography really held it together. The characters are fantastic, maybe a few too many too concentrate on but Sean Penn totally steals the show anyway. Every nuance he has down to a tee. Also David Byrne makes a guest appearance and a little boy sings 'Arcade Fire' which is incredible. Yadda yadda ya, 8.5/10, would see again...

Interesting - I saw the trailer a couple of times, and rather like watching someone you know die miserably in some local Amateur Dramatics night, I don't think I have ever felt so embarrassed for someone as I did Sean Penn.....I cringed so hard I left wrinkles around my toes
What were they thinking?

Finally watched "We Need to Talk About Kevin" on DVD last night. Wow - it doesn't make for easy viewing! Having not read the book, I really liked the way that the story unfolded. Good, powerful stuff.

Presently watching Ben Hur on Film4. I am swooning (on my day off) at the quality of a film made using what was essentially a medium format size film stock*****. Absolutely amazing. The detail is so rich, and quality of the lighting cameramen so magnificent, one can't help to be in awe of the technical aspects of the film.
*****Film stock was 65mm size, instead of the standard 35mm size that had already become the industry standard. Medium format film in photography is essentially 60mm x 60mm(square), 60mm x 45mm, 60mm x 70mm, 60mm x 90mm.
Imagine it, a movie camera made to use a medium format size film. Oh yes, there were 70mm films made too (same family).
Those were the days. -

I thought it was a bit off the first time I saw it, but I watched it again last night and found it made a fair bit more sense. I'm hoping for a for a follow up that will neatly tie in between Prometheus and Alien. And maybe ditch that chap from Lost.

Saw Angels Share last night, really enjoyed it. Scottish comedy so might not go down all that great if you don't understand what they are talking about or don't understand them.
Really funny tho!
