  • I really liked it too. Just wanted to add that I think the Hollywood version is better than the swedish production. Actually as always the books are still better, since both versions fail to give the passage of time in the movies. Also both versions have different endings to the book.

I thought the swedish version was better. It was more of a crescendo, compared to Fincher's. The second two films were made for TV, I wouldn't even bother with them.

  • I didn't realise while I was watching it that 'the girl' was played by an American. She got weird European so right, I thought she must be one.

  • The 2nd swedish one is crap compared to the 1st one.
Still not seen the english version yet!

  • Sounds like I may have to watch this version. I was seriously disappointed by the swedish version

  • One thing I do know is that I certainly wouldn't wind her up.

  • watched mission improbable last night. ok bit of action pap, cheesy in places but still quite enjoyable

  • Utter arse gravy.

  • I need to see MI and Sherlock Homes to believe how utter shite they are.

Got a cineworld world card so really have no excuse!

  • Where I'm from we call cineworld, crapiworld

  • Went to see My Week With Marilyn last night, utterly charming love story in the vein of Lost In Translation (lost soul bonding, forbidden, unrequited love/lust, all that). Kenneth Branagh is gr8 as Sir Lawrence Olivier. Michelle Williams looks amazing. I'd Like It Hot with her.

  • I though this was a great film.

I predict a good showing at the Bafta's or the Academy Awards...

  • Blue Valentine worth watching?

  • yes, but not an uplifting experience.

  • watched The Yakuza
absolutely fantastic film. I am surprised I didn't hear anything about it earlier.
    great ending
    good score too

  • I preferred the original version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". That said, Rooney Mara stood out in the US remake.

"The Last Rites of Joe May" is darn good.

  • Moneyball
    The Ides of March

    Both really worth a watch.

Anything Ryan Goslings in is worth a watch! ;)

  • Blue Valentine worth watching?

yes, but not an uplifting experience.
noooo. so depressing even though it's got two of my favourite actors in it!

  • Thought I was on the wrong forum for a second.

    ha!

  • yes, but not an uplifting experience.

    Its pretty slow too.

I may have been going through the Gosling back catalogue ;)

You're wrong, for the second time in a week (the poem :) ).

It's cracking good but utterly harrowing. Don't watch it if you're in a relationship that you're unsure of :) The tiniest kinks will be magnified to kingdom come.

    Still bloody loved it.

Ides of March a thousand times more watchable and still very good.

As I may have said before on this forum, I'd let him do me.

  • The Artist - anyone?

  • MI - entertaining nonsense, but started to drag after a while

  • This.
