you preferred Bridesmaids to Thor?
-
• #4055
yea, thor was ok but the whole arseguard and jodelheim storyline was boring. looked like an
expensive game trailer. -
• #4056
Hop - absolute pants even a 4 year old said it.

Dragged 'him indoors' to see Friends With Benefits tonight. Had Chainbreaker not said he thought it was one he'd like to see I probably wouldn't have got away with yet another romantic comedy. Or maybe that should be post-rom-com or even anti-rom-com. There seem to have been a lot of films recently which parody romance and indeed the formulaic rom com Hollywood churns out, whilst actually conforming in many ways to the exact structure and content of said genre.
Anyway, this one actually got a couple of belly laughs from Prancer. Both Justin (I so would) Timberlake and Mila Kunis were funny, very likeable characters. The banter was pretty good, the pace was snappy and I felt I got my money's worth of frivolity.
Prancer still said it was sh*t but I don't trust a man for whom the criteria of a good film are:
fighting
special effects
superheros
hot girls
coming of age/sci-fi plot
(not necessarily in that order)Yep, I'll give you that.
Only because it had Woody Harrelson.

No. Sorry. I can't lie. I meant a naked Mila Kunis.

Going to watch Hesher, I dl'd it so may as well, and am saving the last Borgias for tomorrow.

yea, thor was ok but the whole arseguard and jodelheim storyline was boring. looked like an
expensive game trailer.it was more that you gave bridesmaids a 7 it was pretty fucking awful... I didn't even make it to the end.. unless something really amazing happened with something original being written I've a pretty good idea how it ends

Tickets booked for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy for Friday evening. Let's have some awful 70s suits, worse glasses and hopefully the weather will be an almost constant drizzle (in the film not Friday evening in Manchester.......)

If you want to see a good brainless action yarn this week at the cinema. Then check out Columbiana. I only went because Zoe Saldana is the lead, but it turned out to be pretty good all round.

Some good films coming out this week. Like the look off 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy'. '30 Minutes Or Less' might be good too.

Blade Runner? What's that, a new film?
Yeah. It's a Blazing Saddles remake.
I think.

isn't it the working title for the new alien prequel? I heard they would be focusing on the history of bishop...

Almodovars, The skin i live in.. Good film. beautifully shot as ever. Great script and a fine, understated performance from Banderas.. A touch too long IMHO. Especially once the "twist" in the plot is revealed. Nonetheless one of his best films I feel.
Going to see Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy this weekend and looking forward to it
Pictureville just do that. They show all sorts of films. I saw the full unedited version of Das Boot there. Four and a half hours of sweaty tension. Awesome.
