Saw Fire in Babylon at Everyman yesterday. Brilliant documentary film exploring how the best ever team of sportsmen (The W.Indies were undefeated in test cricket for a straight 15 years. Fact) came to be against a background of racism. How 4 vicious bowlers came to bring a team of brutish ozzies to tears with a severe thrashing how they went on to make their former colonial masters, the england team, 'grovel' at the oval. And all this to a fab reggae and dub beat. A film not only for cricket fans.
That sounds awesome! Will get the DVD.

YouTube - XXY - Movie Trailer
Watched this last night. Beautiful. Ines Efron is just brilliant and Ricardo Darin is one of my favourites. Reminded me of the book Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides which is thoroughly interesting too.

Just saw the new X-Men tonight. It was very cheesy but secretly I really enjoyed it. A lot funnier than previous ones and I swear I saw Ray Wise from Twin Peaks (Leland Palmer) make a cameo...

Watch Blue Valentine.
Just rewatched this. I remember it being tough going but even I don't recall it being quite so horribly harrowing.
That's put me in a bloody wonderful mood :(

It hollywood. Its always a happy ending.

Does anyone know what's supposed to be happening with the rumored production of Shantaram? Jack of all trades master of none Johnny Depp appeared to have been part of a consortium who'd acquired the film rights, but then the trail runs cold...

That would be perfect. I can imagine him ranting on about potatoes (interesting times)

Yeah the page on IMDB has been pretty bare since it went up. Look at the the discussion threads.

It was better than what I was expecting. Kevin Bacon makes an excellent bad guy, who would have thought it. Yeah Ray Wise is one of the guys in the war room, he gets loads of TV roles these days. The best cameo was clearly Hugh Jackman though, wasn't expecting it at all.
:) I saw that advertised and thought about it.
