Wim wenders Wings of Desire again, after many years. A European masterpiece.
A distillation of what sensitivities we have lost with Brexit and how cultuarly crude the link to Americana, the transatlantic leaver bunch approach is fostering
(that being said, last night's Bob Dylan gig in Nottingham was awesome - though the most appealing bits were when Dylan channelled his easetrn/central european heritage with tracks fromRough and Rowdy Ways along side the bluegrass)

Tenet was way less bad than I expected. Almost enjoyed it

I think it gets better with repeated viewings one you know the story you can relax into all the details/shade (while understanding that it shouldn’t need multiple viewings to achieve this).
But I’m a general fan of repeat viewings in general so there is that

Indeed. You rarely listen to a song you like once. Why would you watch a film you like only once?

I've still not got round to watching much Wim Wenders. Paris, Texas is easily one of my favourite films so I'm not sure why I've not made time to watch more. I think I have to be in a very specific mood. I did manage to watch the director's cut of Until The End Of The World when I had covid earlier this year though. What better opportunity to watch a nearly 5 hour film?

Not sure.
Frances Ha. Wouldn’t watch it again.
The Future. Couldn’t watch it again.
Grave of the Fireflies. Don’t go there.

Paris, Texas. Amazing film.
Reminds me how I feel about The American Friend. I love it but can’t watch it in any mood. Must want to watch it.

It’s true, you can enjoy a film but not want to watch again but there are equally lots where repeated viewings is great (and not always for the same reasons).
Not always clear what the repeats will be but you’ll just know

I never said I enjoyed Frances Ha……!

Ha!

It’s true, you can enjoy a film but not want to watch again
And like songs, if, perchance you catch a film you enjoyed before, yet didn't considering watching again, and watch it again, you'll see so much more, and enjoy it
Never got the attitude 'Na, already seen it'

Not sure I’d watch Kill List or Eden Lake again but both have stayed with me longer than expected
-
• #19390
Absolutely, get the story first time round and then, freed, really lean in on subsequent viewings

As others have said, for me it depends on the film. There are plenty of films that I've enjoyed but don't really have any desire to watch again. There are more films that are worth watching than you could possibly see in a life time so why rewatch things for the sake of it? Having said that, I've definitely seen every Austin Powers film at least 3 times so I'm clearly very stupid.

With songs, listening again is often foisted on you, desire or not. Their brevity, compared to films, makes you open to another listen.
Time is a factor

You could argue that for every medium.
Time is a factor
(made you read that again lols) -

Absolutely, don’t rewatch for the sake of it but because you want to (even if not easy to articulate why).

This looks interesting for post apocalyptic styles.

Bullet Train
Shit, but not unwatchable shit.
Forget your brain and you can enjoy it. -

Prey
12 year old me would of probably enjoyed it but 42 year old me spent the entire time thinking how the fuck do you make a film 35 years after the original and make it look worse?

Finally got round to watching Raw. Great film but one of the most unpleasant things I've seen in a long time! I need a palate cleanser of some sort.

Wendell & Wild is good animated fun!
It's by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) and Henry Selick (Nightmare before Christmas)

I sat through a web chat with the US IMAX bosses this afternoon, I know they’re going to big up their own slate but they were very enthusiastic about Avatar 2 3D, both from a story and technical viewpoint, the only criticism from one of them was it was a tad long.

Re: PCC
The forced laughter noisy audience is what put me off going there for any of my favourites. There are films I would have loved to enjoy on the big screen… but I can’t tolerate that noise.
(Edit: not sure why I got a reply to you rather than normal comment, sorry!)
