The King Of Staten Island
Best film I've seen this year. Marisa Tomei is such a great actor it's like eavesdropping on a family.

That’s on my list. Been saved on the sky box for over a month.
Might find time to watch this evening.

The Clint Eastwood one? Was good, surprisingly so.

And she has a thing for short, stocky, balding men!

Deadpool, did not hate.

Yes, the Clint Eastwood one.

I got round to watching The King Of Staten Island tonight based on your review. I enjoyed it a lot. Quite touching and genuinely hilarious in parts, a couple of things really caught me off guard in the best way.

Snap, very good, from the end credits it seems like it might have been autobiographical to an extent.
I also watched Nomadland, recommended ^ previously, another goodie.

Was randomly reminded about this today after hearing Bill Burr talk about it ages ago. Might give it a spin.
Pete Davidson's father was a firefighter who died responding to 9/11 IIRC. Must have been a tough film to make for him.

Watched this the other night, brillant but very sad.

I got the impression that it was Pete Davidson's tribute to his father, I didn't realise he'd co-written it until the end credits but it makes a lot of sense having read up a little bit on his backstory.
I think Malisa Tomei and Steve Buscemi (and that bloke from The Wire) are the only people I can recall seeing in anything else, apart from Bill Burr's shit, obnoxious stand up. I thought the whole cast was excellent though, really good performances all round. -

Whiplash
Great filmNot quite my tempo

After watching Nomadland I gave The Rider a watch - similar feeling and gets my seal of approval

Action Branson had a good five minutes!
-
• #17542
Ha ha, yeah his appearance was a highlight.

Greenland - had its moments but overall pretty formulaic and dull.
Outside the Wire - briefly threatened to become interesting before lapsing back into being shite.
I have Come and See lined up to watch, just waiting for an evening when I have the requisite time / fortitude available.

Tag, drivel, but fun and feelgood. Jeremy Renner is annoying in everything though.

Started Aquaman last night, MrsDeth and I slagged it off for a bit, settled into its nonsense, got super bored, checked the run time, still an hour to go, FML.
Sacked it off and regretted agreeing to the Snyder cut of Justice League this weekend. -

Tried the new Justice League and managed 40 min. Every element of it is a failure. Dialogue just
pure cringe, amateur action scenes, visual FX worse than TV shows, colour grade like some student
film 15 years ago and in 4:3 aspect ratio! Not even Roland Emmerich has made anything as shit
as this.
Don't know how it compares to the previous version because I can't remember a single thing of it. -

Any more recent to Amazon Prime recommendations? Just got a free week with an order and couldn't find anything i wanted to watch. Old or new, Merica or Forrin.

Jurassic Park

Isn't it like 4 hrs long this cut, I think Snyder has done some decent stuff in the past but a lot of his recent work is absolute shite.

It's mostly slow motion so maybe 1 hour of actual content.
Well, I’m more into jokes/memes about Adam Curtis docs than actual footage.
Gah, I knew I should have subscribed to BFIPlayer rather than Mubi. Okay.
