What I like after a depressing film marathon is to cheer myself up with a heartwarming tale about awesome dogs... Marley & Me is a good one.

I care a lot on Prime. Could have been 25 mins shorter. Fairly ridiculous, pretty entertaining.

I feel like there was some good recent horror movie suggestions lately but can't find them. Need something for later tonight, fun, scary, not A24.
Anyone?

Fuck me that looks delightful! Actually looks brilliant tbf, I love a depressing miserable film. Kes, 1984, Deer Hunter and now Threads. It was the first thing I thought of this morning, the small details have been creeping up on me all day.

Nice (ish) telly is being repaired, no replacement while they do it despite being under warranty so the 26" 720p fucker from the depths of the attic is being used. I fancy a film but obviously it should be something where visuals either aren't really important or it's old and looked a bit crap anyway but I've not seen it. What to go for?

How did people use to survive on tiny CRTs? This thing looks worse than the "portable" TV I spent weekends watching in my grandma's house, at least as far as my memory goes.

Videodrome? Embrace the shitty TVness.

I watched that again recently, used to be my favourite film back in the 80s and 90s...
Did not enjoy... ☹️

I've already got American werewolf in London downloaded due to never seeing it, most people probably saw and loved it on a shit telly right?
-
• #17471
American Werewolf In London is incredible. Definitely a good choice for the lo-fi TV experience!
-
• #17472
Ah, I've only seen it a couple of times, most recently last year I believe and enjoyed it both times!

You probably also can't go wrong with anything by John Carpenter. It all looks ropey and dated anyway, might as well lean in. I watched Assault on Precinct 13 for the first time last night and it was good fun. Great soundtrack obviously.

Listen up Phillip, on Mubi - not seen it in ages. Won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but it absolutely cracks me up.
Jason Schwartzman plays the pretentious asshole perfectly. -

Totally unrealistic and just not at all believable. A nurse with her own flat in Earls Court?
You'll definitely need a good laugh after watching those two. Try The Road. Viggo Mortensen is a hoot!
