  • if you're into mindless movie podcasts to listen to while your life ebbs away, you could do a lot worse than "The Weekly Planet" and "Caravan of Garbage" - same blokes.

  • I don't often watch the film for the episode , but as they are on DisneyPlus I thought I'd watch them before listening, man they are shite movies.

Loves me some WHM, I need to get on the patreon for the WLM episodes.

  • I was signed up to the patreon for a bit. Not that bothered about the WLM episodes, I prefer it when they're just tearing something apart, ha ha. The Animation Damnation episodes are decent though!

  • Just watched Little Joe on BFI player. Very slow, a bit unsettling (helped by a very suspenseful soundtrack) but mostly just a bit dull. It looked absolutely amazing though.

  • This might be of interest to some of you

  • Beast on All4 for the next 10 days or so is definitely worth a watch

  • That's been on my watch list for a while, will get on it, cheers.

  • We watched From Dusk Til Dawn this afternoon, screenplay by and co-starring Tarantino. Great cast, it had a Preacher feel to it.

Also, Cop Land, another all star cast, good storyline but didn’t quite deliver.

  • I haven't seen From Dusk Til Dawn in at least 10 years I don't think. Definitely due a rewatch, just to see if it's as bonkers as I remember.

  • I rewatched The Running Man last night. Perfect brainless action with some excellent, shoe horned in one liners and one huge wink at the camera from Arnie.

  • Enjoyable short film. Worth 15 minutes I reckon.

  • The story I heard about that movie was that Tarantino's screenplay was written specifically to match the special effects budget, pretty cool when you think about the story arc and where most of that money got spent...

I'm due a rewatch as well, love that movie...

  • Today rewatching "It's Such a Beautiful Day" by Don Hertzfeldt. Amazing experience, harder to watch as it goes on, a Father's Day theme emerges towards the end (which is what made me think of it).

  • I watched this last night. Absolutely shocking but great fun after multiple beers in a group chat with some pals.

    Doing it right.

  • Reminds me of going to watch The Raid at the cinema pissed with some mates at midnight. Sat slouched in the front row drinking even more beer.

    I miss the cinema.

  • After the mention earlier in the thread, I watched Cop Land over the weekend. Meh, it was ok. Amazing cast though.

I spotted 4 actors that were also in The Sopranos. And De Niro and Ray Liotta were also in Goodfellas. And then there is quite a bit of crossover between actors in Sopranos and Goodfellas. Is it just a coincidence between New Jersey cop/mafia shows, or is there some other connection?

  • Eh, just fahgettaboudit already.

  • Anyone see Lara Croft on ITV last night? It started at 8pm and they cut it to goddam hell. Stupid clumsy jump cuts all the time for swears and violence.

  • I watched All the money in the world on TV last night and I guess it will always be the problem of a film versus a TV series but it seemed so weak compared to Trust which tells the same story. Wasn't a fan of the casting of Markey Mark either, I guess his performance was especially jarring having watched The Departed last week when he hadn't yet become a cameo of himself

  • The Velocipastor?
If VB ever gets religion, be very afraid

  • Watched A24's the Farewell on the weekend and enjoyed it, funny, sensitive and great to look at.

    Rampage - not so much.

Also caught the first episode of the "they've gotta have us" the Black cinema doc on the Iplayer that I believe first aired a few years back. Very insightful and was great to see Ernest Dickerson the director of one of my favourite movies (Juice) getting some air time.

  • Just watched Beast. Really good, glad I managed to catch it, thanks for the heads up!

  • It’s one that has stayed with me for quite a while, not sure why I’d never picked up on it before now

  • Amsterdamned: Classic Dutch popcorn movie about a serial killer in the Amsterdam canals.

Sass and cop tropes, no annoying weak female characters. And a great speedboat chase.
