  • First one I watched of all 3. Absolutely blew me away, but then it's a different type of film from free solo and dawn wall.

  • Not seen, thanks for good suggestion. Is on Netflix currently.

    'Just a Dress'
    Looks awesomely bonkers

  • I missed that at Belfast film festival definitely want to see it.

  • New documentary on Diego Maradona is great

  • I was going to go with someone who has zero interest in football whatsoever - would they still find it interesting?

  • My sister definitely did, so yes.

  • Charlie Angels reboot trailer dropped today, a film that no one asked for to be rebooted.

  • Another vote for Diego here, Mrs M loved it too and she’s not a big football fan. The footage they’ve unearthed is fabulous.

The story about the making of the film would make a good documentary itself.

  • Went to see "in fabric" today.

A movie about a cursed dress...and obsessions with shopping / perfect size / fashion ... And, em, washing machines?

Part gallio, part very British scarfolk council with some dark and deadpan humour. Wanted to see something strange did not disappoint.

  • Finally got around to watching Sorry to bother you last night.

Fantastic film, really, really enjoyed it.

  • Wow, Netflix. Wow.

  • Brawl in Cell Block 99 is on Netflix, if anyone is in for some ultraviolence & Vince Vaughan being amazing

  • Just watched that. Not a date movie.

  • Oh I really wanted to see that!

  • depends on how into face stamping your date is, I guess.

  • So last night was

Midsommar - don’t expect things going bump in the night, it’s a trip that leaves you traumatised along the way. At least as good as Hereditary.

Armstrong - some interesting background on the man, it does what First Man failed to do

  • I'm off to see Midsommar tonight. I don't know anything about it, going in totally blind!

  • Oh and I watched The Beach Bum yesterday. I really enjoyed it, I was expecting it to be pretty similar to Springbreakers but it really wasn't. Made me want to chug a bunch of beers though.

  • "There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, 'Come in 007,' and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman."

The amount of blokes triggered by this news is just delicious, good old Phoebes.

  • Midsommar - always applaud something trying to be different but ultimately i wanted to be scared or at least unsettled and was unfortunately neither.

Mostly good fun though with some (intentional) laugh out loud moments .

  • You’re made of sterner stuff than me, I was very unsettled, but already established on the mice thread that I’m a bit squeamish. Agree with the lol moments.

In my top 3 this year with Apollo 11 and Maradona, I want to see them all again

  • I enjoyed Midsommar. Definitely more unsettled than scared at any point. I don't want to give too much away because I think my enjoyment was enhanced by knowing nothing about it before I went in.
I'd like to see it again, the seat I had was absolutely terrible, right at the front as far to the left as you could get.

  • Hellboy was a bit crappy, and not because it wasn't Ron Pearlman, all just a bit cheesy and too much crap cgi.

  • jeez, the trailer for fast and furious : calvin and hobbs looks SOOOOOOO shit, not like the rest of the franchise were any good, but this looks just awful,
