  • It's a gloriously silly sci-fi romp. And I love the alien dog with the stupendously large cranium that almost runs faster than the speed of light.

  • So Ragnarok was fun in a Norwegians doing Spielberg kinda way... More Norse mythology films set in the present day please... No Troll Hunter but worth a lazy watch...

And it's got Saga Noren in it...

  • Saw Live By Night, I guess it's fine? Wasn't bored at any point, but fairly average.

  • Saw Trainspotting T2 last night. Funnier/less bleak than the original but quite reliant on it and verging on excess sentimentality at points. Style is so-so with weird really short freeze-frames that look more like the film is buffering than anything else. Enjoyed it but I almost think it would have been better as a high(ish)-budget miniseries on netflix with the associated time to develop the plot and really get into what the characters have been doing for 20 years.

  • American Ultra, fantastically stupid but awesome romp... Amazing that I enjoyed it so much as I can't normally stand either of the leads...

  • I watched Pride last night because it's on iplayer.

I really liked it, but if you're a homophobe who loves Thatcher and the police and hates fairness or Wales you probably wouldn't.

Bill Nighy, George Mackay, Paddy Considine and especially Imelda Staunton are great at playing the kind of fundamentally nice people you rarely see in media or films.

  • My friend reviewed it and gave it four stars, but said having Renton as a character and not the narrator (a la T1), lost a little for him.

  • Interstellar...Took a while to get going (or maybe I just wasn't patient..) belief not completely suspended for ending but overall not bad.

  • Jack Reacher: Never Go Back...I believe that the never go back portion of the title may have been a prompt to "Running Tom" that he should have listened to

  • Split, ok but seemed missing a fair bit of story.

  • Spectral (Netflix only) is passable hangover entertainment.

John Wick is much more enjoyable hangover entertainment. It's basically Sad Keanu doing gun fu in the dark for a couple of hours. Which is more amusing than it sounds.

  • John Wick is a classic...

Galaxy express 999 vintage 1978 anime... Surprisingly good teenage romp.

A boy seems revenge for the murder of him mother and want to become immortal by getting a machine body. Space trains, space western, space pirates a machine planet and hand drawn animation make for a great watch if that's your cuppa.

  • if you're a homophobe who loves Thatcher and the police and hates fairness or Wales

    I'll probably leave it then.

  • The Girl with all the gifts - well done low budget take on the Z genre...dark and dystopian

  • La La Land. Hell no, lasted 15 mins....

  • Whiplash, finally. Was great.

  • ah been meaning to watch that, really enjoyed the book.

  • Fantastic Beasts - got about an hour in and had to turn it off, utter poop.

  • Wilderpeople was great though.

  • La La Land has equalled the record for most Oscar nominations ever. A musical. A jazz musical. This is literally worse than Trump.

  • Bollywood should really consider oscars

  • i've not seen it. do white people save jazz?

  • Looks like a typical Cronenberg movie
