I've seen it, really liked the problem solving aspect of it. Some parts were more believable than others, but overall, quite enjoyable (I haven't read the book).

Hmmm, having seen the film, would The Martian still be a good read?
Wish I'd read it first.

Watched Jodorowsky's Dune last night. It's a documentary that details Alejandro Jodorowsky's failed attempt to adapt Frank Herbert's Dune for the big screen.
He had Moebius, HR Giger & Chris Foss for storyboard & develpment, Dan O'Brannon of John Carpenter's Dark Star for the special effects, and would have starred Salvador Dali, Mick Jagger, David Carradine, and Jodorowsky's son as Paul Atreides (who was trained for two years in martial arts in preperation for the role, six hours a day, six days a week; at his father's behest); it would have perhaps been the most expensive movie at that time, certainly the most ambitious.
It probably would have been a gigantic mess and failure if it had been made, but who knows?
The docu makes the argument that even though it never made it to production the legendary storyboard book that Moebius drew did the rounds in Hollywood and influenced many other famous films. -

I watched that documentary and really wanted Jodorowsky had succeeded. The Dune film we got was poop.
It was interesting the way gigers work on Dune influenced Alien.

Yeah, how O'Beannon hooked up with Giger to adapt Dark Star and essentially remake it as Alien. Amazing how the fluffy, bizarre alien creature from Dark Star was a precursor for perhaps the scariest extraterrestrial yet seen on screen.
But it would have been amazing to see Jodorowsky make Dune.

Reading The Matabarons is well worth it if you like Jodorowskis work. Well mad...with fantastic illustrations, galaxial lice and much epicness.

Blind woman's curse, not bad, I bet Tarantino saw it a lot ;)
Another arrow release: White of the eye. Standard story in a way, but lush photography and its...strange. Worth a watch if you don't mind flawed movies with great visuals.

The gift. Low budget creepiness +1. Suspect much of it was filmed in a producers house.
I loved it, though it ironed out all the things I hated about the book, which was basically all of it except the basic premise
