  • Maybe I set my expectations too high to really enjoy it, and I really wanted to! but all I can remember are random scenes of dancing and shots into characters eyes to try and seek out whatever emotion they were supposed to be emoting at the time.

Ha, I watched it last night and agree that not much has stuck. Except they made the Parks and Rec dude look like a total douche with his Jack Black stubble and superman hair.

I enjoyed it though. The highlight for me was Howard the Duck.

  • Watched it on the back of this. That was a bit of a mind fuck

  • I enjoyed Guardians but not massively so, didn't quite live up to my expectations...

    Howard the Duck was awesome...

  • Dat last bit doe.

  • Watched Back to the Future for the first time tonight. Much fun.

  • Only just realised (ok pointed out to me) Interstellars score is pretty much the same as Watchmen. #yougotmenolan

  • Nightcrawler tonight, pretty darkly funny Scorsese lite

  • 3 star wars films down, on new hope now, gonna have to complete the marathon tomorrow I think.

  • Lucky you. Such fun. How did you not see it when you were eleven. Or are you eleven? #grooming

  • I watched The Deer Hunter for the first time (yeah I've no idea how that happened).

...feel a bit daft for missing all those Russian roulette references over the years. Suddenly Revel adverts make sense.

  • Saw The Drop this weekend, thoroughly enjoyable performance from Tom Hardy.

  • Eagerly awaiting that from lovefilm :D

  • Just one of those things that passed me by a little. 23 now so wasn't alive when it first came out. Also, thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Now hit up the sequels. It's a great trilogy. The third one is waning a little, but I still really like it, it's a great Sunday afternoon film. Plus ZZ Top are in it.

  • Saw The Drop this weekend, thoroughly enjoyable performance from Tom Hardy.

Just saw this tonight, enjoyed it.

  • Camp x-ray, released at the start of the year.

Simple, slow and set in a boring place... and all the better for it somehow. It feels true to life. Would make a good play.

    Class acting all round.

  • Seiously? Check out Wes' other films royal tenabaums, darjeeling limited and rushmore to name my fav's.

  • All three in one sitting, chatting about this the other night and discussing the differences in the car....

  • Get on up - JB biopic - brilliant stuff, specially the 'live' scenes - 8/10

  • I've watched Dead Silence in Netflix, it got real bad review in Rotten Tomatoes, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of those "it's so bad it's good" horror flick.

  • Watched the maze runner, which was a middling affair aimed at hunger games fans but watchable and The Salvation, which had Hannibal Lecter as a cowboy and was pretty decent. Just look for a subtitle file as there is a little bit of Danish in it, unless you speak Danish, then you probably won't need to bother.

  • Saw The Drop this weekend, thoroughly enjoyable performance from Tom Hardy.

Everyone needs to go watch this.

  • Interstellar.

Classic low brow / high brow sci-fi: let the audience feel smug that they can follow such a complex storyline, and ALL THE SCIENCE.

The blatant audience manipulation continues with the loud bit, the emotional bit, and the tense bit being played one after the other.

Still - bloody enjoyable, and only a few moments of teeth-grinding-WTFness

It was also the first time that I've been to the cinema for quite some time. It doesn't get any better, does it? The sticky floors, the coughing, the smells...
