i asked at brick lane about getting some aeroheads, but they weren't sure how much demand there would be for them - especially since they'd probably have to get some in each colour. but if enough of us ask about them they might change their minds.
also they've just started stocking deep vs at cavendish cycles, so they might be willing to order aeroheads.
i wasn't too keen on ordering them from 52x13 or whatever the place is called as I wanted to see them first - I've read reports that the quality is a bit variable. -

i'm running on aeroheads, so next time there's some event, you can have a look. i also have a brand new 36 hole silver aerohead that i was planning on building up, but haven't gotten around to yet. i work in clerkenwell, so if you're around this area, you can have a look.

Hi
Anyone seen the light blue non machined deep v's anywhere in London. Went to cavendish today and nope, havent seen em in brick lane for a while. Any ideas or anyone who works for these stores know when they'll get em in?
In fact while im at it, anyone ever ordered wheels from US, i could get em cheap from there but a bit worried about damage in shipping??
cheers

Got mine from Ben's Cycle in Milwaukie. Very smooth transaction.
Try 52x12 in the UK.

Did you get hit on any import tax?
-
• #61
Yes, but including that and shipping it was still cheaper than BLB.

I ordered some weinmann deep-v from an ebay store for a friend. they came packed very well and in good condition. he got landed a bill from fedex for the duty though. £36 on £100 wheels (i think).

all tube rims there .. not cheap option for london streets - few skids and flat :(

I have a pair of mtb Deep-V's, got the rims at a bargain price from CRC when they had them in a sale (they don't seem to do them any more sadly...). Got an extra bargain when they turned up dented.
They are bomb-proof, but really stiff even with double-butted spokes.
I do like them, but I wouldn't have them again for commuting.I find the cross-winds a nightmare on them, surprised if other people don't find the same? Maybe they're worse in the smaller size?

DT Swiss RR1.2! Same profile as Deep V but stronger and easier to build/true. No silly colours but fuckit really.

Just putting together some 700c Deep V's but fannying about deciding on the colours. Made a bunch of variations and included the Photoshop file if you want to experiment too...

black

• #71
black, maybe silver. All the coloured ones look gash on that frame.
-
• #72
black
And buy a bigger frame. Even seb doesn't have that much post.
-
• #73
black rims, black hubs and a black seatpost
-
• #74
Rim colour is not a concern.. that hideous seatpost is. Nitro everything and powdercoat it hot pink.
-
• #75
Yeah, the seat post isn't that high in reality! Just slotted it in for the photo.
Was actually thinking either gold rims or as a mad choice, red. Can't be doing with all this black and silver nonsense. Just a bit too safe for my tastes. Bonus is that at least the wheels are less likely to get stolen. :)
Aiden, so what's wrong with your goldtec's???
