  • Fair does, forget you didn't get trade.

  • Completely different shaped last. If the Specialized feel noticably comfortable, it's a sure sign you were never going to get Sidis to feel right.

  • From a quick search I would appear, somewhat ironically given Sidi's country of origin, to have Roman feet:

  • Although that said I rode into work this morning in size 45 Ergo II's (with spesh footbeds) and they are amazingly comfortable.

Did you order the footbeds online or get them from a store? The ones that comes with the Sidis are pretty budget, but I'm not sure which footbed I'd need...

What's that mean? You prefer sandles?

  • Or just make your own?

    That is chuffing ace.

  • Get something you can bake in the oven, and mold to your feet. Simples...

  • I don't do cooking.

  • What about barbeques?

  • that's burning

  • I do set fire to things.

I've just gone Ergo 2 (47) > Vaypor (46.5) and after having been a Sidi whore for years, motorbike race and motocross boots before cycling, I have to say the Bonts are far superior in fit, comfort and feel/performance.

  • Bonts>All. And I've got/tried them all. They're like wearing a glove. But do need playing with to get right. Prefer them to my s-works.

  • Rode home in the S-Works MTB shoes today, having ridden in wearing my Dragon II's.

I fear that BMMF is correct- with the 44 S-Works I've got enough room for my toes, but the shoe is perfectly sized for my arch and heal.

With Sidi I need 45's to get enough space in the toebox, but they feel baggy elsewhere- 44's are perfect around the ball, bridge and heel, but don't have enough room for my toes.

Anyone want two pairs of size 45 Ergo II's? Both in great condition, one pair with a scratch on the toe?

  • You have nothing to fear but fear itself.

  • And wasps.

  • Fucking wasps

  • What colours?

  • Would I be right in assuming what we have learned here is that internet advice on shoe fitting is as unreliable as internet advice about bike fitting?

I've the same situation. I've got sidi road and mtb shoes that are awesome, indestructible and I feel really fond of (we've been through a lot together). But... the relatively cheap Giro shoes I bought recently give more room in the toe, which I like. Now I wish I'd bought higher end Giros.

This is worse than buying a bike with EdwardZ around.

How much does it cost to amputate two small toes safely?

  • The other pair are the same, but have never been worn without oversocks on (which I cannot be arsed to take off for the photo):

They're stiff as feck. Like standing on marble, vibrating marble at that. Untill you get the molding just so. Then its bliss.
