They really don't stand up to much walking.

Go for the Drako. I've got the dragons and if I had to buy again, I'd do it instantly for the constrictor. The velcro at the front of the Dragon's loses is stickiness pretty quick. Really frustrating.

ACycles are doing the Drako for £243
https://www.acycles.co.uk/sidi-drako-carbon-mtb-shoes-2016-12521.htmlAnd then they credit the account with a 6% cashback.
Not bad... very tempted.
Every other retailer that has them are doing them for £300. I strongly suspect ACycles did a European import prior to #brexit and thus can offer a better price whilst their stocks last.

bossman is #OldSchoolBuyer .. that mather .. whatever happened to White and Gold @Velocio ?
-
• #1358
White and Gold is being ridden at the moment. The summer is always best when riding fixed.
The Mather is in the hallway as it is its turn to gather a little dust (and I fancy ballooning the tyres a little and going to 28s when I dust it off).
The Serotta has been ridden hard this year, still gets a turn once a week as it's too lush not to ride.

So due to a combination of negligence, laziness and five years of brakless fixie skidding antics my Sidis are now in a bit of a state. The screws on the removable pads are worn smooth, anybody got any ideas for getting them out or should I just give up and shell out for a new pair?

Looks like you have just enough of the sole left around the screws that a needle nose set of pliers might work.

• #1361
old dominators? you could drill them out .. I've done that in past but dont trust myself with a drill, taken to LBS and they've taken it out .. would be hard to find a replacement though.
-
• #1362
you could probably rip the plastic of the sole lugs off, and then get easier access to the edge of what was the screw head
-
• #1363
Carefully dremel a slot into each screw, use a flat head screwdriver in the slot. Had to do exactly that on my pair recently.

drako obvs
-
• #1365
you need two shoes to make the pair
-
• #1366
It's very a list of me but I am assuming you have two legs and feet.

ebay seller sent me the wrong SRS replacements for my Dragon 3s. can't be bothered to send back to spain. if you recognise this pattern for your SRS then 20 sheets and they are yours london pick up. otherwise i will keep and use the toe and heal in due time. just the side ones not correct due to screw placement. and if push came to shove a bit of drilling would sort anyway i imagine.

THe Drako are much stiffer. The new Dragon's appear use the same soles as the Sidi Spider.
Drako are by far and away the stiffest MTB shoe Sidi have made

Always remember to check here for Sidi shoes http://www.bikechaincafe.com/sidi-cycling-shoes/sidi-mountain-bike-shoes-80?dir=desc&order=price
Usually much cheaper than anywhere else. I bought some brand new Drakos from them for £130 some time ago!

• #1370
Damn, I should've bought from there.
Oh well.

• #1371
Return the one's you've already bought!

Rose Bikes also.
-
• #1373
Hah, I'm too eager to put them on when they arrive on Monday. No chance.
-
• #1374
For me it normally goes...pain...pain...pain...mild discomfort...ride in rain...fit perfection.

Worn out the tread? Shit aren't they; they don't last half as long as the Drako/Dragon/Eagle soles. Dunno why that is!
Try Sidi Cafe or Ebay.
More info here.
@dancing james, how long did you get your walking pads to last/how much abuse did they take?
I've had a pair of RT82's for just under 2 years and the rubber has just worn down to the point where the cleats are wearing out. Looking for an effective replacement, hopefully with replaceable walking parts.
