We are usually play on sunday but may beable to get people to do a game. Don't expect too much though we have not been playing very long and our polo events are very relaxed.

Also... TdF prologue is more than a little distracting and we may all be very very drunk and on our nice bikes.

Ok. the bicycle film festival will provide some funds for these classic machines as long as they can be used in the bike polo expo i'm planning for the filmfest.

• #283
nah he means one of these
-
• #284

every sunday should have one -

but hold on - if these Herne Hill polo bikes get repaired, surely they'll want them to stay there and be used on grass right? Not to become hipster rides hitting the concrete in east london...
Mike what's that bike polo expo?
We should have a bike polo competition for the BFF - on another court maybe closer to town? Or on a blocked off street if they block one off like they just did in LA.y

When swinging at the ball one should not swing the mallet higher than the handlebars.

Message from oxford person in the myspace inbox account...
Hi Brick lane
Sim from the Oxford Supernovas bike polo team calling
A few of us are coming up this weekend to see Le Tour and we thought we'd bring our mallets and see if you guys wanted a game.
Will you be on Brick Lane on Sunday from 1?
I was wondering about Jubilee Gardens by the Millennium wheel as the riders will be going past there in the morning.
Get back soon and we can arrange something. I think some of the Manchester Dropouts are around too.
Ping Ping!
Sim
I replied saying they should check out brick lane on sunday, jubilee gardens probably wouldnt work and that he/she should post here to see what other people have to say ;)

I think we could have ago the only thing is watching the stage one at the same time, may be meet a little later than one. Also make sure they know that it is sackwell street (or however it is spelt) otherwise they could be wondering around brick lane looking very confused.
It seem like they like to play on grass.

Smeear, Ill meet you Saturday AM for hat trading? That ok. Name a place? Pref not too near/before the prologue mallarky. And then you can show me where you lot play the game. Somewhere near Brick Lane ja?

FYI we play on tarmac (Currys Car Park) and grass (South Park) in historic Oxford. I like both and use a fixed on the street and mtb in the park. Polo is truly sweet.

i hate living out of the city.
i dont know one single other fixed rider and am dieing to play polo
Right we've had it playing with ourselves (not funny) and beating Manchester and being beaten by Kent (only because of their stoopid Speedway bikes and fancy mallets...and maybe experience) get on the Oxford tube and come and have a match with the mighty Oxford Supernova Society.
Bicyclogy will be here on 16th and 17th http://www.bicycology.org.uk/future_events/2007_summer_tour.htm
And there will be polo and it will be fun as it always is.
Ill be in LDN to ridicule the competitve geared people and get free stuff and hopefully buying a hat or 2 off of Smeear. On Saturday. Shall I bring my mallet ... anyone playing?
