You can't get (for me at the moment) half the pull of the clips as I could with the clipless. I guess this is the trade off between function and fashion

Try double straps, easy to DIY if you don't want to spend loads of money. It's still not as good as clipless but I do find it improves things personally.

+1 for running them lose till you get used to them. i have more of an issue putting the on then taking them off.
yeah man, the thing i liked most when i switched to clipless was how much easier it is to clip in!

straps i hate with a passion, for one reason.
u can never get your foot out of them when u urgently need to.Spd's or the likes of, are the way to go. clip in , clip out, no problem.
