Anyone in the Bournemouth area?
My red Falcon got stolen earlier tonight from Fitness First near the Wessex Way. Put a ton of ads on Gumtree and also contacted police and Fitness First themselves. Anyway, if you hear or see anything, please let me know.
Kyle
I'll keep an eye out mate, I live in Boscombe and I see bikes being sold by all the second hand shops that are blatantly pinched! Do you have any more photos?

Another one stolen. About 2000 tonight outside Surrey Quays Tescos. My FBNPNA bike ...white MTB frame SS, built with balloon tyres, black mudguards and rack ... With the PDW front 6 pack rack.
Only locked with one Abus 19mm steel-o-flex cable lock (I know, I know...) but right outside the front door of tescos ffs! and they had less than ten minutes..
'security' are sat in the back room muching on hobnobs, I've seen it myself. They will not let you see the footage due to data protection. They and their burgundy blazers can f*** right off.

In late summer I had my Colnago c40 stole from outside a pub in Islington. Locked it up with a very expensive lock. Came out the pub after a quick pint to find bits of carbon fibre every where, intact lock and Cosmic Carbon wheel cut in half!
Later forks were on E bay sure they were mine because of some wheel rub on forks and correct size etc. Rang police not interested. Played with idea of collecting them my self and confronting buyer but have kids so not worth the risk. Think the lesson here is don't lock your expensive bike (especially a carbon one) in london. -

All speculation but this was either purchased by someone with no idea about what they were buying, or it's stolen. Maybe.

I asked for a specs list as there are none listed. I got a reply of 'sram rival.'
I then asked about the cranks and wheels and the seller said 'they are slk cranks and planet x wheels.'
Make of it what you will, but it's not exactly encouraging...

ebay name indicates its a lady seller, perhaps selling post-divorce residues?

Really gutted to hear this appalling story... the law of the land protects kids from any serious deterent from doing this kind of thing... I am coming to the conclusion of don't cycle around with an expensive bike as it will sooner or later be targeted and eventually become someone elses possession with very little help from the police... Gutted for you... :-(

^^Ha very possible. I said 'It strikes me as being very strange that you know absolutely nothing about a bike you apparently paid £1500 for' and whoever is using the ebay account said 'Well don't buy it then!!!!'

All the stuff she has previously sold are baby clothes etc, not the usual MO of a bike thief
-
• #9787
It's pretty easy to steal the clothes off a poorly locked baby.

If anyone gets offered this BLB/Velocity Aero front wheel don't buy it, it was knicked off my bike in Central London today, opposite the National Portrait Gallery entrance, right outside a heaving busy Pret, for f*%k sake.
Or, if you do get it offered it and want it, buy it (I only payed £30 odd for it on ebay), then kick whoever you buy it off right where it hurts, the little
b*%&tard.(Thanks for the staff at Leicester Square Underground station though who let me take what was left of the bike home on the tube, though.)

There's always one!!
I just just decided its about time i did up my Griffin and looked for some decals when i found a posted picture of it branded as a possibly STOLEN bike along with this little discussion. which implies i purchase stolen goods from Brick Lane. Wrong....Mate! I purchased from the original buyer as a complete track bike from before you had your forum membership...
.
I would be interested to know how you decided it was stolen, and exactly how is it suppose to look, so I can park it without you taking anymore fuckin snaps, posting comments.and making judgments.. the next thing you know some other arsehole will want to point me out to the cops... ...riders should be able to ride and look what they want...
