  • Does anyone know this guy Pepo - http://www.lfgss.com/thread86969.html ?
I reported my wheel stolen the other week and put a post up here. A few days later my wheels came up for sale on his thread. Was suspicious at first as he's based in Hackney and that's where they were stolen from. But needed some better proof. Just got in touch with the guy I bought the bike of originally and he said this
"yeah babe, sorry to hear that. they are defo mine. i relaced the front one with radial pattern and they have Schwalbe tyres... sorry.."

So does anyone have any info on him. I reported these wheels to police an hour after they were stolen.

  • I think by tipping him off on the other thread you've made it more difficult to get them back.

Posing as a prospective buyer and informing the police might have been better.

  • Hi all,

Had the above mentioned bike stolen from outside my place in Tufnell Park, North London over the Jubilee weekend:

    • Matt black, flat-bar road bike, silver Bianchi decals.
    • Green Brooks Ti Swift saddle
    • Blue 'Howies' stickers on boths sides of top tube below saddle nose
    • 1x9 set up
    • Time atac (spd size) pedals

If anyone sees it please let me know.

Hi Heather i did buy them from someone on bricklane market

  • Suddenly they are "sold" ?

  • Did you get a receipt? Because you'll be needing to hand those wheels over to Heather, and reporting the person that sold the wheels to you to the police.

Buying stolen wheels on Brick Lane and selling them on the forum? Are you fucking serious?

Heather - contact the police and let them know that this prick is handling stolen goods.

she reported it already to the feds.

Hey first of all i didn't know that they were stolen i bought them for my self second of all i wanted them for my self but than relised that its maybe not right if i bought them there for price like i did I'm more than welcome to help with anything about

  • Hi Heather i did buy them from someone on bricklane market

Thats pretty shitty man. How can you buy things off those scumbags to sell them on? Also I was down there all day long and didn't see jack.

Everyone knows those wheels and saddle... etc are stolen goods.
If you did buy em your just as bad as they are to buy something off them to sell on and make profit.
Talk about keeping thieves in pocket!

Also why have you removed all the pic straight off your flickr?

  • Hello, I have had my Green S type Brompton stolen from Leather lane EC1 about 2 hours ago. Would be great if you could all keep an eye out for me.
It was not locked at the time. Thankyou G

You might also want to not buy bike parts from Brick Lane any more, given that they will have invariably been stolen.

Im more than welcome to help her with anything if she comeback to me and the other thing is why they selling that there if noone ever go and check them out? And for sure i won't buy anything else from there
and i did remove everything from there because obviously its something which I'm not happy about so i did remove that straight away as i saw that and i send her private msg

what about few other wheels (and bits) you've sold on the forum in the last few weeks

where they all bought by you in brick lane?

  • No point in dwelling now, but why no lock out of interest?

  • Some things i got from there yes thats right but most of the things were from my bike or what i bought online

  • Listen i always though if the police passing by there why they never check this people selling those things so i was pretty sure its ok

  • I also suppose you bought them for a lot less than £130 from the Brick Lane market too. Please keep us updated with how things turn out with this, it's an interesting situation.

  • yes i did buy them for £60

  • As i said i have no idea what to do about that if someone know please tell me and ill do that

  • So, you bought them for £60 at a well renowned dodgy market and then they magically double in value when you try to sell them on here? Sounds like you know what you're doing and you definitely shouldn't be trading here ever again.

  • i did send msg to cocktielprong and no answer i will return them and for sure i won't get anything from there anymore if i knew that i wouldn't be posting that here

  • and what about all other stuff you're selling atm or you've sold in the last few weeks?

  • Who have you sold them to Peter?

  • As i said i have no idea what to do about that if someone know please tell me and ill do that

The police will be able to give you a pretty good idea of what you should do.

  • ^ +1

  • Next time you head down to Brick Lane, buy a nice long mirror and take it home. When you get home stand the mirror up so you can stare into it and take a long hard look at yourself. You might begin to feel a bit guilty or shameful.
