  • that polish lad lashed out at some kids who were "just looking". literally pushed them out of the store.

  • Is that the larger older guy? if so then yes, massive cunt. I do everything i can not to deal with him if im ever unfortunate enough to have to go into blb

  • Yep that's the one, I always thought he was ok, but sounds like not... and if they were complicit in selling stolen goods it's quite serious, unfortunately the chap who bought the bike was never given a receipt and paid in cash... £200.
I can't see BLB selling a Bob Jackson full bike with a Gran Sport chain set and MA3's for that price unless they think/know somethings amiss...

  • Heard about BLB doing this several times now and it is very worrying...

  • somebody told me they go shopping in brick lane every sun morning.
think broken_777 is working there, is that correct?

  • Broken_77 used to work at BLB a long time ago, was last working at Condor, but I believe he has relocated to Spain.

He was a mechanic and especially wheelbuilder at BLB, but did some very sound trading outside of work.

  • Could BLB be shut down for selling and trading stolen goods?

  • Doutzki off the forum works there currently

  • Could BLB be shut down for selling and trading stolen goods?

    yes

  • somebody told me they go shopping in brick lane every sun morning.

Yeah I heard that too but I thought it was 14BikeCo who did that, but it makes more sense if it's BLB.
I think they are smart enough to cover up and evidence, it's a shame the guy who bought my pals bike paid in cash otherwise they would of had something...

  • HarryMajor on here also works/worked there....

  • blb Facebook page bombing?

  • Yes, let's shut BLB, they're a rude bunch of cunts anyway

  • My friends Bob Jackson was stolen a few weeks back and he spotted someone on it, went over to the new owner and turns out he had bought it from Brick Lane Bikes and seemed a decent chap so he believed him.
The pair of them set up a comedy routine where the new owner went in and asked if they remembered selling him the bike (he had no proper receipt) and the Polish lad was "yes, of course, how is it working out for you" whereupon my pal, the previous owner piped up with the info about it being his and stolen...

Long story short BLB had some sort of half as red receipt claiming they bought it from a guy in Kent, looked very fishy, also said Polish lad got very aggressive with my friend, as someone with something to hide would.

Bit concerning that a supposedly reputable bike shop could be involved in stolen bikes? And I was just about to buy a new frame from them...

BLB are not a reputable bike shop.

  • Blb have been dealing with stolen bikes for a long time according to rumours, which i first heard back in 2007/8

  • Had my bike stolen last night from the gate railings outside the Dove on Broadway market.
Was locked through front wheel and frame but some f**ker cut through the shrouding and cable. There is a CCTV camera opposite the pub but not too confident that'll help.
Was in the pub for about 2hours..
Matt-Black frame, Guess carbon forks, stronglight chainset, shimano105 front brake, red handlebar tape (different bars on old photo) and a grey suede saddle. Front brake lever was a bar-end type. Rear wheel is like the photo-Blue Alex rim, front was a Shimano RS20. Front and rear red tyres.
Gutted, as everyone is i guess when they lose a bike. Pissed it down last night as well just to make the long walk home that bit more special..!

  • That's a perfect example of just how poor cable locks are. I hope you get your bike back.

  • Is that little braided wire the only thing of substance in that lock, with a big rubber casing? Shocking.

Condolences on the theft medalemonk, I hope you get it back, and next time get a yellow or an orange Kryptonite, or two. Check out the 'what to do if your bike is stolen' thread if you haven't already.

  • Could I also suggest people refer to the "locks that work" thread?

  • somebody told me they go shopping in brick lane every sun morning.

seen the polish chap several times down there early with a bag full of goodies !

  • Long story short BLB had some sort of half as red receipt claiming they bought it from a guy in Kent, looked very fishy, also said Polish lad got very aggressive with my friend, as someone with something to hide would.

doesnt really matter where they bought , if its nicked and its in their shop then they are handling stolen goods .....i would refer them to the rozzers if i were your mate !

  • Yep..that 'lock' that i had could be split open and the pissy little cable was the only defence under the metal casing. Left my Kyrptonite at home..sods law.

  • East London is cuntsville wrt bike thieves, always take your strongest locks.

  • ... and a crappy bike

  • Saw a young mixed race chap in a grey hoodie riding a nice looking baby blue singlespeed on the Figge's Marsh end of Streatham Road (A216), Mitcham near Mitcham Eastfields yesterday at about 7pm

Baby blue frame and fork, drop handlebars, white decal on down tube, possibly Bob Jackson?

Not one to point fingers (he says, pointing his finger...) but it didn't look right, looked like he was struggling with the fixed gear and the saddle was way too high

if its yours, good luck retrieving it!
