Stolen bikes

Brooks saddle theft is a big problem right now. I've included some advice on personalising your saddle here.

Shit, last time i test rode a bike i had to leave some form of ID, even though I'm a regular customer who pops in almost every week

The suspect is said to be around 5ft 8in or 5ft 9in tall, slightly overweighed and aged in his mid-50s.

Some good news this time!

The police called me this morning to say that they have recovered my Merlin in a raid. Apparently the guy they arrested couldn't be questioned as to why he had it because he had to be taken to hospital right away. Of course, I'm deeply saddened he got beaten up so badly he couldn't even talk.

Re fuckin sult.

Yep. Got a million miles of insurance forms to fill out this afternoon, so hopefully it will be time to go bike shopping in a week or so. Better watch your back Timmy - I'll be straight up bastard hill next time. ;-)

Drat. Blue ribble gears (tiagra) with yellow bar tape & crud guards from the stands in Clapham Junction ASDA less than 30 minutes ago. I was only in there for 15 mins but it was inadequately locked (abus curly). Ho hum. Has an ugly black & white kappa saddle, SPD pedals & battered cateye el530 light.

Get down to new covent garden market boot sale on Sunday. more than likely one of the white van crews will have at least one of these...

my beater got stolen couple of hours ago from somewhere around east acton
it wasn't locked, my boyfriend took it for quick ride, he was standing next to it and talking to someone when somehow discussion turned into a proper fight (long story) and when my boyfriend turned around to get the bike it was already gone
the bike was a piece of shit, create frame and wheels and some random bits,
shit bike but very useful to me as i was using it to get around shops and whenever i needed to leave bike locked for longer
hope that someone will spot it somewhere

My pal's bike was stolen in Hoxton recently. Its Langster Monaco, but only the frame is standard to the bike so should be pretty easy to spot. Drop me a PM if spotted please!

Saw one of these this morning on Clerkenwell Rd at about 9.30am this morning. Might be worth your mate hanging round there for a bit at the same time tomorrow just in case. What's non-standard about it?

A friend spotted someone riding my bike yesterday morning around east acton station on Henchman street, same street it's been stolen from.
Anyone commuting around there?
It's so ugly that it's hard to miss it.
