Damn.
Been to France to stock up on Booze, came home (Mitcham) to find my shed doors flapping in the wind, and my lovely Charge Plug Grinder gone :(
The gits had tried to force the shed door open, when that had failed, they had started to undo one of the screws that held the swivel that held the door shut, but they gave up on that, and undid the 8 screws that held the hinges on. Including the 4 security headed screws. Bastards.
My bike was sadly unlocked within the shed. The other bikes were locked together, just mine was taken.
photo of bike from unboxing it when it was first bought:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/V4beGVYEMnMLBj7ZIAeXFNMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink
Changes since the photo:
Immobilize sticker on rear seat riser with post code
Rear mudguard broken, and front half still on bike, rear half replaced with SKS Xtra Dry Rear Mudguard
Pedals are now Shimano M324 SPD Pedals
Has a Cateye EL135 on the front, and a Blackburn Mars 3.0 Rear light.Really really upset at its loss.
Reported it to the police who just shrugged pretty much. Not worth claiming on the House Insurance, as the excess is too high, so have to grin and bear it, and I can't really afford to replace it.
Any ideas as to where to look would be happly recieved. It looks like a pro job, given they had the tools to unscrew the screws, rather than just force them off.
PM please if you see it :(

I know this is a long shot...but thought it's worth a shot. I had my Brooks Swift stolen last night when I was at our local pub on Forest Rd E8. I got complacent and didn't lock the saddle up as the chain didn't reach and I thought it would be ok. It was a black Brooks Swift, which was actually my boyfriends and I had just worn it in to be super comfortable as well. It has scratches at the front and the back from turning the bike upside down for punctures etc. and it had a bright pink Hells Belles dangler attached to it as well. Off to Brick Lane to try my luck later....

Bike stays in bedroom.
Well, it was a choice between the Bike and the Wife in the bedroom, and I chose the Wife.
I maintain I was right, but if you prefur sleeping with your cold bike to a warm person, who am I to judge... ;)

Dang, came out of my sister's flat in lewisham on thursday, opened the locking bike cage and found my bike was gone! Gah, so if anyone sees the bugger riding round on my beloved Olmo I'd much appreciate it if you slap him one in the chops for me.
It's pretty distinctive i think,
red Olmo Giro frame/forks
mismatched wheels (one campy hub on the front)
one black tyre, one red and black
gross chunky stem
cinelli criterium bars i/c black bar tape
Shimano 105 brakes
red and black Trek saddlethanks

We were out 'ther night when we met this dude on a bike on Walworth Rd. Yes it's contentious questioning someone based solely on appearance but he doesn't look the type. The fact he was asking us if we had anything for sale and boasting about all the other 'bits' he has really makes me think he knows people that drive this thread forward. If you know the owner to be someone else, it's around Bagel King. If the bloke pictured is the original owner then please take my apology and the offer of a drink sometime.

Bright red unbranded track bike stolen from St Martin's Court WC2 between 11.40 and 12 today. Very special frame, 56cm, Cinelli lugs with the winged C on them, Cinelli BB shell and distinctive seat cluster. On-One all black wheel set with distinctive Vittoria Open Pavé tyres, Centaur front brake, 3TTT chopped Moskow bars, 3TTT 80mm stem, Miche chainset, SPDs, King red/white/blue headset, VO Grand Cru seat pin drilled for grub screw at back to stop slippage, Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow saddle.
Perpetrator captured on CCTV, someone convincingly dressed as a courier, black shorts over tights, green top, large black messenger bag. Any help in my slim hope of recovering treasured long-term bike much appreciated - Hutchmore pice HERE
UPDATE: Thanks to CCTV (it does have its uses occasionally) and the excellent Cycle Task Force, the guy who took this bike got collared today. Unfortunately, it appears that he dumped the bike around Kennington Park Road/Vassall Road some days ago. Of course it is now long gone (again) but please keep an eye out in that area as it doesn't seem to have appeared on Scumtree or Fleabay and therefore may just be in the hands of a lucky local. It should be pretty easy to spot if out and about. Any sightings please PM me, thanks a lot, H

Gutted for you Hutch, like many other members of the forum...

My friend had his bike stolen from Clapham Junction station tonight. His cable lock was cut. Its b-twin blue and grey frame, a large frame and stem, and single speed, with a black metal chain guard. It has one spoke missing from the back wheel. He had just finished making it for his first project so is gutted. If anyone sees it lying around a PM would be good.
Thanks, here is a pic of it hopefully... -

Thieving bastards!!!! Mine was lifted from my bike at the corner of Willow Street and Gt Eastern St in ... you've guessed it, Shoreditch last night between 6 and 10pm. Bike was locked to buggery but the saddle was only 'locked' with an old bike chain.
Will use a cable from now on. Chains don't work. All they need is a multi tool and your riding home with a seat post up your arris. It has some scuffing on the back edge which means I might be able to identify it on Brick lane, but what's the point? It will just be my word against the scumbag selling it!
I hate having stuff nicked! Fuckers! It's mine you bastards I paid my hard earned funds for it.

Public service announcement: My Brooks was taken in Shoreditch (yep!) last night. I'd 'secured' it with an old chain. Was persumably taken by someone with a multi tool as they made a clean job of it (even took the bit of chain) and unbolted it from the post. Can't help thinking it was another cyclist doing some 'personal shopping' which somehow angers me more.
So don't use a chain kids... it won't work. A cable at least needs cutting with bolt croppers. Or as Nhatt has pointed out on the Brooks joblot thread, glue ball bearings into the key holes.

I tell customers to get the saddle postion right and the seatpost height right and then super glue ball bearings into the allen key fittings.

I so should have done this, I've done it on my other bike. No idea why I didn't on this one! God I'm a tit. My punishment - to 'dildo' it to my studio where I have a Rolls which I can fit before I get to ride to my other work this morning. Sad panda!

Cheers dicki. I considered this but honestly can't see the point. Even if I am able to identify my saddle from the little scuffs it sports etc' it's my word against his isn't it? Proper fucking scum!

Maybe it's worth marking Brooks saddles underneath with a 'symbol' or something then photographing it on your bicycle and keeping a copy of it on your phone. As they're leather, a permanent marker should be enough to indelibly mark it - doesn't have to be your name or anything, just a unique mark. At least if you have to get the law involved, you have something you can show them then and there. I know i doesn't help with already lost saddles though...
