Gift from my girlfriend, the first bike I built up from a bare frame...only ridden for 3 weeks...gone overnight! No trace of the thick cable combination lock which was securing the frame to a cycle rack/stand.
Stolen on Tuesday 26th April 2011 between 0200-1600 hours from outside Coltash Court, 152 Whitecross Street, London EC1Y 8QL which I've since learnt is a cycle theft hotspot!
The 25" Raleigh Royal 531 touring frame is very large and distinctive alone, but if it still has the parts I put on it it'll really stand out:
- extra long straight quill stem
- white charge riser bars (coloured black with permanent marker wearing off!)
- gold anodised components taken off my old Raleigh Record Sprint: Weinmann caliper brakes, single chainring and crank arms
- no derailleur, 5-speed freewheel but set as single speed
- shifters hack sawn off to leave simple shimano brake levers
- shimano M520 SPD clipless pedals black/silver
- thin alloy rims front and back with Armadillo road tyres
- can't remember name of the thick wide comfy gel saddle
I don't know why I can't post a photo here yet, I checked filesize but perhaps it's because I just signed up. You can see it on CTC forum: here

Hey,
Bought a brand new bike from Foffa only a month ago and unfortunately, last night at the Scolt Head pub in Dalston it was pinched. Its pretty distinct looking; bright yellow frame, black saddle, black grips with everything from Foffa. The big give away is the tires, which are grey Halo's with a black stripe down the centre. This combination is unique (so Im told) so hopefully it should stand out.
Im having issues uploading an image but if anyone thinks they see it around the Dalston area or near abouts please don't hesitate to get in contact.
Many thanks.

Thanks all, have moved the post onto the stolen thread (I think). Also, update, the Police called me the day after; they ended up arresting three blokes and were hoping to press charges, which is kinda sweet.

Hello Forum people:Sad news, I was waiting just round the corner from st marys church near stoke newington when a dodgy as fuck ginger Irish man confronted me whilst I was waiting for the lad who was going to buy my bike.
After him asking if my bike was for sale and if he could take it for a spin he decided to quite rudely say; 'give me the bike or I'm going to punch your fucking face in'
It was at this point that the £150 Raleigh compared to my health/iphone/wallet/keys that he might have decided to take from me I swiftly made an exit to call 999.
Whilst on the phone a kid (who'd just had his bag robbed off him by the same bloke) came up to me and we both ended up in cop cars doing laps of Stokey.
If anyone see's the bike (picture above), please feel free to call 999:)
James.

Have some rep.
I hope the owners have logged their bike on immobilise.com which is where the police check recovered bikes. -

fuck man, worlds going to shit with these bike thefts. As summer gets underway I fear a knife related bike taking is probably going to take place, sounds like its getting properly nasty in places.
hope your bike turns up again jimmah, got nice lines to it.
