  • I've had two white Charge bikes stolen. Didn't have white wheelsets though, but light silver. Could have been replaced. Where exactly was this?

  • Sorry that was directed at Thaippines

well i saw the kid riding it in clapham common near clapham junction sw11

  • Check his feedbacks, been regularly buying bikes off the bay, converting them to fixed then flogging them, seems a legit sale albeit one which could have at least did a bit more work on the listing...

looks & sounds stolen, rubbish /non sense description, shit phone pictures, lowish price, 3day listing, other bikes visible in background, and seller is based in essex.

  • I've got a vast collection of these, want one ?
£5-15 will get you a second hander - though, they are *all *second hand Lol!
If theres a particular bike you want, i can get you it, just allow me 1-2 weeks.

  • Banned... either a muppet with a weird sense of humour, a troll or a bike thief. Potentially all three at once! Let the hysteria begin!

How do you know his bikes were stolen, eh? They could have been merely abandoned.

  • Hi,

I hope I don't get told off by the forum police, but I would just like to ask forum members around the Stoke Newington/Dalston/Shoreditch area if they come across anyone trying to sell them a Brooks Honey coloured B17S Standard saddle complete with seatpost to let me know. It was stolen from my girlfriends Pashley last night and although this probably won't result in me successfully reclaiming our property any info would be grateful so we can report the person/persons involved and hopefully stop these little shits before they do anything else. Long shot I know!

My girlfriend was parked up outside a bar she was drinking in in Stokey last night and when she finished just before midnight noticed the entire Saddle and seatpost had been stolen.

    Any info gladly appreciated.

This is what the saddle will look like. It's quite new too, so very little wear. Seatpost might have scratches from it being wrenched out the frame.

    Cheers
    Rob

  • You've no chance of recovery, mate. Even if a suspicious saddle is being flogged by shady ner-do-wells, how can you prove it's your girlfriend's saddle?

Put it down to experience, buy a new saddle, and glue a ball bearing into the allen key socket of the saddle clamp.

  • Next time do this

And/or get her name stamped into it. I charge £10 to put your name in lettering over the seat of the saddle.

  • Cheers guys, I knew it was a long shot (a very long shot), but it was worth a try just to get some info.

I did warn her to put her cable lock through the seat rails, but what can you do, eh?!

I've told her to get a new seatpost clamp when she gets her saddle later. God knows why Pashley supply a Brooks saddle with their bikes and then have a quick release seatpost clamp in the first place.

  • quick release seatpost clamp in the first place.

Oof, unfortunate lesson learned there. My anti theft device is an imperial bolt :) but I would def glue the ball bearing in there...havent got round to it, cue my own 'saddle stolen' post on this thread

charlotte, that is particularly shit news. really sorry.

not a stolen bike but an important part. got from skoota and prepped by skully and given to plum. stolen today from outside fenchurch street station. personalised brown brooks professional with black rails. if it comes your way please let me (or Plum on here) know. big thanks

  • My Brooks saddle and seatpost were nicked from Old Street on a weekday afternoon a few months ago.

That was despite the saddle being covered with the unmarked plastic rain shield, and secured to the frame by a length of bike chain covered by inner tube.

Whoever nicked it just took apart the bike chain lock. I'd guess they used a chain tool since it was done neatly.

So gluing in a ball-bearing or soldering over the socket seems a much better idea.

  • Was it on quick release?

  • Excuse my ignorance but if you glue a ball bearing into your binder bolt to deter sticky fingers. How do *you *get it off?
