  • i snapped this earlier today. the junction of bellenden road and consort road.

    sorry if i missed something.

Sorry, but am I missing something? Is there any reason at all why that may not simply be his bike?

He wears a hoodie dammit !

  • And he doesn't have a helmet on, he's clearly not a real cyclist.

  • agreed. Wears hooded top and rides bike = does crime n'stuff.

  • All jokes aside though, isn't this witch hunt a bit out of order considering that no bike of that description has been reported nicked? I like the whole hardy boys, eyes peeled community support shit on here but this is pure profiling no?

  • Pretty much, hence what I said about it being impossible to call either way. And such a distinctive bike not having been flagged as stolen.

  • He's got a rolled up trouser leg and pretty funky shoes. I reckon he can totally pull that bike off.

  • to alot of people he is just another person on a bicycle, but to this community he is a hoody wearing person on a aerospoked bianchi that has the saddle at the wrong angle. there is so much about him and the bike that make you wonder how they came to be together. call it profiling, call it racist.
maybe its just a case of opposites attracting. there could not be a more opposite bike to the one that he is riding that you would expect to see him on............. except for perhaps a lo pro with a rear disc wheel.

  • Have you seen Rounce lately

    Just saying

  • rounce is half the weight, no?

  • there could not be a more opposite bike to the one that he is riding that you would expect to see him on............. except for perhaps a lo pro with a rear disc wheel.

um, how about a Moulton? or a mixte? Pashley Guv'nor? classic English tourer?

I'm sure this thread has been invaluable to a great many people and will continue to be, but extending it's remit to "speculation about & stalking of people who do not fit preconcieved notions of the typical London fixie-skidder" does not strike me as a positive development.

  • i ride a moulton , i ride a pashley guvnor esque bike and i also ride a pure track bike

  • Fair 'nuff. I think we're all agreed that any such profiling is unhelpful at best, and potentially dangerous. The Stolen Bikes thread should be about bikes that have been stolen.

  • rounce is half the weight, no?

Yeah.. he looks like a fucking ballerina. Bless him. But brakeless Bianchi TT frame with HED disc... For the commute...

  • Internal news bulletin at my work.

Surely they should publicise this? TFL seems to have a serious communications/PR issue...I'm reminded of the guided superhighway rides that mostly got cancelled because they couldn't publicise them.

  • He's got a rolled up trouser leg and pretty funky shoes. I reckon he can totally pull that bike off.

I agree, it suits him. Its like the cycle version of a tricked out BMW.

  • I was profiled too by fellow commuters with some sniggering comments when I took my Dolan with F&R Tri-spoke on the overground.

  • Yeah.. he looks like a fcuking ballerina. Bless him. But brakeless Bianchi TT frame with HED disc and that hat he wears........ For the commute...

    true dat brave

  • bellenden road

Where is this? I would like to go there

  • How would one pronounce it?

  • bell end on road

  • um, how about a Moulton? or a mixte? Pashley Guv'nor? classic English tourer?

When I saw this bike locked up in Peckham I instantly thought it looked like a collection of stolen parts, I didn't even see what the owner looked like. There is just something not quite right about that bike, or I'm just been a complete idiot. Probably the latter.

  • If any one has seen 60cm GT Edge polished Alu 96 vintage, Kinesis chromed bladed forks, black CXP33s on Black XT disc hubs, Sugino 75s with SS set up - stolen 18th Feb from Highbury Grove.
